Placement matches

First off, I am aware of my skill level in this game. I do not play a ton so I don't have aspirations of getting to a high ELO. I played around 90 ranked games last season. That being said, I have no idea how placement games work. I go 7-3 and wind up in Bronze 5 after finishing Bronze 3. So once again I will slowly climb the ladder to Bronze 1 or Silver 5 like I have for the last 3 seasons. How does this seem like a fair assessment of skill in this game? Hopefully the new queue system will help but honestly, why do I even have to play these ridiculous (and meaningless) matches? Just put me where you're clearly going to put me and let me start my climb. Stop making me waste time in placements if they are completely and utterly pointless. Placements are over 10% of the time I spent on ranked last season...I would rather have those 10 games climbing me out of the gutter than wasting my freaking time.

If I can post this somewhere else please tell me where. Since my update I am even more upset by this. This is nuts.
