RIOT PUNISHMENT SYSTEM REWORK! UPDATE 2019!

RIOTS PUNISHMENT SYSTEM - well let's just say it is as old as season 1!

Here is my new concept idea for the punishment system. RIOT DO NOT BAN, facilitate! Why to lose customers?

So a lot of people feel that the punishment system is not fair and lots of rumours that people can get away with a lot of things. So this is my idea to renovate the punishment system.

  • INTERNET SPEED/ MS/ Afk's/ lag - (I'm playing so bad because I am lagging!) Riot should have a system built in that all players must complete in order to gain access to the game. If your ping is way to high that your game will be unplayable or you will experience too much lag, this will be detected by the ms test and you will not have access to normal or ranked games, you will only have access to bot games where you will not be punished for your lack of internet speed and you will not effect your own account or other peoples game play due to your internet speed. This will allow for more balance within the community and overall a more fair approach!

  • BANNING - (why did RIOT ban me? I will do everything within my power to submit that ticket or even make a youtube video about this) Banning players? Not a wise decision RIOT, this forces RIOT to lose custom or encourage these players to make new accounts and continue with their behaviours either way, banning is not actually solving a problem or helping to reform someone, yet, causing them to become more angry and continue their behaviours with an inconvenience or having to make another account.

A solution to this is to remove rewards and strip titles, restrict them from entering any normal game modes and only have access to 1 game mode, the offenders queue. Just like normal, bot games, solo queue etc. the offenders queue should have its place amongst the client and should be locked until a player has committed an offence then that queue becomes unlocked and the other queues become locked. This way riot still has their customers and offenders will be grouped with other offending players and this way they have more time to reflect on their behaviour in some instance and given a righteous way to reform before they are allowed back into the community of playing normal game modes etc. This way it actually benefits the non-offending players as the figures of offending smurfs will become lower and the time and perhaps money that the person has invested on the account gives them more incentive to reform and less incentive to make another smurf and continue with their behaviour.

The way people will be punished in the offenders queue will be to what offence they committed, it may be a short period or long time of period and depending on the offence is whether or your rewards and titles will be temporarily stripped or permanently.

Another VERY IMPORTANT offence to be added to the system is wrongful reports! Currently RIOT just discredits the people who are constantly reporting people, however, this should in itself be an offence. People reporting and making other peoples games an unpleasant experience just through this alone and it is a major problem. (omg report this guy for inting, he is trolling, omg report him for playing *** in *** role, I will report you for reporting me, X9 yasuo for scripting etc.) Player who abuse the reporting procedure should be punished with the restriction of having a report button or another way is to put them into the offenders queue along with the toxic and grieving offenders as this in itself is in fact toxic and grieving as well as making an unpleasant experience in actual gameplay. People deserve to be punished for offences they have committed, sure RIOT's argument here is, if there is no evidence of a offence being committed the reports are meaningless, but this doesn't target the fact that people are still abusing the report system and should be punished for this. On that matter, it has been known for somebody to get punished for offences that they have not committed due to an excessive number or reports and again, RIOTs argument here is that they have an automated system where players are punished if they receive a high number or reports (regardless if they committed and offence of not) as RIOT employees do not have enough time to inspect every persons report, this being said a lot of rightful reports are ignored or haven't made their way through the system because of the high level of reports that the system has to deal with constantly. This new offence of being punished for abusing the report system should rectify that problem and slightly lower the amount of reports and again should target those who abuse the report system.

I do hope this is something that WILL see its way into the 2019 update as this is something that will dramatically change League of Legends for the positive direction in the future.

Riot should have a system built in that all players must complete in order to gain access to the game.

This sounds good on paper, but putting that system into place may be harder than it sounds. Even then it doesn't fix the players who are fine going into a game but start lagging halfway through because of some unforeseen issue with their connection.

Banning players? Not a wise decision RIOT

I fully am on Riot's side with the decision to ban toxic players. Nobody is perma-banned immediately. Players are given several warnings and chances before being permanently banned. They may make a new account, but odds are they'll just end up banned again if they don't change their behavior. It isn't about 'customers' it's about trying to keep an enjoyable competitive environment for the people who aren't toxic assholes, in my opinion.

" the offenders queue"

The whole 'prisoner's island' concept for toxic players has been talked through over and over. I doubt Riot will ever implement this.

Oh I forgot to mention, the offenders queue is not focused on balancing like normal game modes. This queue will be separated in 3 tiers low, med, high. This means that bronze 5 offenders will be queued up with gold 1 offenders, platinum 5 offenders will be queued up with diamond 1 offenders. Master and challenger are grouped. This way people will experience dramatic games where there is no balance at all and will be painstakingly unpleasant.

lol, this will never happen. It's kinda fucked up.

Oh I forgot to mention, the offenders queue is a bot game and guess what, these bots are super bots and your chances of winning any game is 0.1%. There will be no balance to what rank you are, you could be a bronze 5 with a challenger playing against these bots in a aram map. You will endure 30 minutes of being stomped by super bots that you can literally do nothing to. Now how you behave in these offending bot games is how you will remain or leave the offender queue. The length of your punishment in the offenders queue is dependant on the offence committed and you will add more time in this queue if you do not endure your punishment, if you go afk, dodge, leave etc. you will add more of these games to your punishment.

As a quick idea, ok you got a first time offence for being toxic (it happens) you have been punished with 10X 30 minute games in the offenders queue. Lets say your a repeat offender and you constantly committing major offences, well the punishment games will keep increasing with no limit.

How to monitor players in these games from cheating, i.e afk, running around in a circle, running it down lane and constantly dying. Well running around in a circle sounds like a punishment, running it down lane and constantly dying sounds like a punishment... afk? well you have received your afk warning and have acquired another 5 offenders games for each afk gg wp hf gl! Well I can use a joystick and tie a band to it so it can keep running down lane and I don't have to do anything, well the smart monitor has picked up your repeating the same movements over and over and guess what another 5 games for you gg wp hf gl!

This is a true punishment! This is where you might add well there is no difference from being in a timer queue for 20 minutes wait and for 5 games etc. well actually it is worse, you actually have to queue up and play these offending games, not just set a timer and go do your thing for 20 minutes and return.
