New Champion: The Adamant Idol

I designed this champion to be a very protective tank. Many of its scalings are off of armor and magic resist, and it has a passive that snowballs based on how tanky it really gets. It has decent CC, massive shields for its allies, and an ability to buff wards beyond normal capabilities, making for a powerful support, as well as a viable top.

I don't yet have digital renderings of the concept art, but I do have drawings of the thing. The link is above ^

So this is how he works: (Information in parentheses are the increase based on LEVEL. Brackets are the scaling.)

Passive: (representing icons with items and summoner spells.... deal with it) item 3084 Unyielding Armor:

Edit: It gains bonus values from armor and magic resist, each receiving a bonus 10% increase with each purchase.

Emits an aura that increases ally armor and magic resist by 5(10)(15) within 600 range of it.

Q: item 3187 item 3136 Sigil/Sentinel: |Toggle: 2 second cooldown|Ward cooldown: 60 seconds

You can click on a friendly ward for 35 mana to buff it with either Sigil or Sentinel, giving the ward 5 ticks of health (or heals it back up to 5 if it's a pink)

Sigil: Edit: When an enemy champion comes near it, it reveals the surrounding area (similar to an Ashe E or a Quinn W) for 3 seconds.

Sentinel: Edit: When an enemy champion comes near it, it sends out a wave in an area of effect that reduces the armor and magic resist of all enemy units within range of the ward for 3 seconds.

(Only one of each ward can exist at one time. Buffing another will destroy the first of each i.e. you can have one Sigil and one Sentinel, but placing another Sigil will break the first, similar to Heimerdinger turrets. Each last 45 seconds before debuffing each ward.)

W: summoner 21 Enigmatic Barrier: |60 mana|25 second cooldown

Covers itself in a celestial coating for 5 seconds. While the coating is active, champion damage to it will stun the attacker for 1.25 seconds. (Works once then pops, like a spell shield, except you still take all the damage, but they also get stunned.) Edit: Enigmatic Barrier's cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds whenever it is basic attacked by enemy champions.

E: item 3512 Astro-Lock: |70(60)(50)(40)(30) mana|12 second cooldown

Edit: Fires out a short-ranged area of effect zone that forces enemies to the ground after 0.75 seconds, rooting them for 0.5 +[0.5 sec for every bonus 70 armor/magic resist] and dealing 50(75)(100)(125)(150) +[60% of AP]

R: {{summoner:17}} Bastion: |100 mana|80(60)(40) second cooldown

For 5 seconds, it and its nearby allies gain a shield that can absorb up to 200(350)(500) +[50% of armor]+[50% of magic resist] over the time period. The shield only lasts for the duration of the actual skill, so this would be like a last-ditch "keep everyone alive" tactic.

For everyone who would call this OP, please, in the comments tell me why, and just remember that item 3071, item 3135, and item 3035 will be the main tools to counter it, as well as baiting out its W so it can't lock down your carries. Leave it alone, it can't do much, as the root has a small delay. It can be easily kited, so as long as you don't get baited, chase it, or just don't see it coming, it can't hurt you. But boy, you won't scratch his teammates if his ult is up. Try to bait out this as well, and don't overcommit until you're positive it's down.

And with that, I leave it open for discussion. Please let me know what you think in the comments below, and possibly help me with a name for this. Although, the "Adamant Idol" title is referring to its older lore idea, about some celestial origin. Again, up for debate.

(And about the lore, I was suggested an idea by DisturbedJoshua (NA) that it should be a creation of Viktor , and a sort of sentry to protect his tech) What do you think about the lore? Let me know in the comments below.

Please tell me honestly what you think about it, because I would love to see this in the game, and I would love for Riot to see it as well. :)

There is just... a lot wrong with this champion. First off, it's passive.

Passive: It literally benefits from whatever defense it builds, and it's ONLY going to be building defense so this passive is never NOT bad for this champion. Rammus is a great definition of a tank, but what they had done is give him damage equal to 25% of his Armor, since armor is a stat he will be building, but most likely not always building. Maybe he needs more MR this game, or something. This passive has absolutely 0 downside to it, and that's just not fair. Nevertheless it's absurd ratios.

Q: ** This skill doesn't entirely make sense. Why does it even have a mana cost for a 2 second cooldown, when you'll probably not switching for a long time? How would you toggle between which form you want to use? Whether you're support or top, this makes your lane ungankable either way. There is just zero counterplay **to this ward unless you destroy the ward. And even if you do, the cooldown is 2 seconds and you can just place it again. This doesn't make sense on a tank, and there's no counterplay to this at all aside from denying vision. Which hardly matters with upgraded yellow trinket/sightstone. Too OP.

W: From what I am understanding, it stuns any attacker that hits it. It has a static 25 cooldown, which is low for what it can do. Minons/monsters count towards it, so if you're at all in minions while attacking someone, it's cooldown is going to drop rapidly with creepwaves. And considering you're ONLY building tank, this is absolutely no issue for you. That means this skill is going to be up constantly, and having a free stun for such a low mana cost on a tank is silly. Leona Q CD isn't entirely high, but the balance that with the fact that it's a melee skill. Taric dazzle has a CD of 14 at max rank, and only scales to 1.6 second stun. There is nothing at lowers this aside from CDR. Your stun will be up a lot more if anything attacking it lowers CD, and everything this skill does benefits you considering you're only building tank.

E: This is a zyra root with a low static cooldown at all levels. The fact it scales down in mana doesn't even make sense. Eventually mana cost won't even matter when only uses 30 mana. Why does it even scale with your tank stats? It's a stat you're going to be ALWAYS building. There needs to be balance. Even Sion , a champion that typically builds 100% tank has AD ratio's on his skills. his Q can stun, and do really good damage. Even more if you build AD and decide to max it first. His E scales off AP, and his ult scales off AD. You see what Riot has done here? All champions scale off different things, this way they don't directly benefit from building only one kind of item. Yet, Sion is still highly effective in game. The fact your champion's E even does damage that scales off tank stats baffles me.

R: The skill is okay, but it needs a duration on the shield and not a CD as low as 40. That means it can be up 2 times or even 3 times in a fight. Lux already has a skill that can shield all allies, and it is REALLY effective. The ratios on this would need to be altered, and it shouldn't scale off stats you're always building no matter what. Maybe just armor, or just magic resist, or health even. Maybe AP. I don't know, something like that.

Summary: All of this champions skills benefits from building tank, which is unfair and makes Alistar Amumu Braum Galio Garen Malphite Maokai Nautilus Sion Sejuani Zac look weak as tanks in comparison, since they all have ratio's that scale off AD/AP, or even health. Rarely is there a champ that scales of Armor/MR like Taric Leona. This champion needs different ways to be played, build paths that vary so there isn't just strictly ONE build for them, and obvious skills to max and to not max first. It needs to be less CC heavy and more reasons to be attacked. You can argue all you want that Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, Void Staff can counter it. Duh. Those counter any tank. But an ADC isn't going to build more than a Last Whisper, and very rarely do champs build Black Cleaver (there's only a tiny handful... c'mon..) even Void Staff doesn't always help, and people usually get that as a 3rd item, even 4th. By that time this champion is just going to be so CC heavy and tanky that they won't even pierce them. This champ needs more balance, different scaling ratios, MP scaling fixes, static/scaling cooldown fixes. Riot doesn't want champions that are only good for one role, and one role only. Lots of champs can be played AD OR AP, and that's what they enjoy. A volibear can be top, jungle, or even support. Lots of ADC's can play top, and sometimes even mid. Even oddball champs like J4, Naut, they all can be played in different positions. J4 can be a good top/mid, as well as a support. Or an ADC like Tristana, can be played as a pure AP mid champion. Naut follows this rule, since he can be built pure AP due to his ratios, and still be effective as he can as a tank. This champ has one build path, and all skills benefit from this build path and encourage it. This leads to a boring stale playstyle, and be restricted to only one role. I'll add/fix/edit anything I can think of later.

Additional Questions: Is this champions auto attacks ranged or melee? Is E a skill/shot or point and click? Can something block it's path like a Karma Ult + Q? What's the range on all of the skills?
