we all know Nocturne's Nocturne Lore (if you dont read it, then come back) the most disturbing theory. what if that was indeed the truth of it?

Enter Unelma, The Dream Reaper. i may need to do multiple posts about this champion concept to cut down the size of each individual section. if you like this share it with your friends =D HELL share it with Riot 8D. it may be the next champion they come out with (i dont mind if they change a few things, but riot if you do use it please let me know so i can brag) ill be ordering these posts in the following order:

now then: onto lore:

Once there was a Dreaming Maiden… Who warred with a Nightmare, so vast that it nearly consumed her. Whose twin scythe scraped across the dreamscapes of Eternity, The Void, and many other unexplored places. Many tried to awaken her, to pull her from the lands of her fantasy, but she refused and rebuffed each one. For the nightmare was still there, waiting to Lash out. Thus for an eternity she slept, until her flesh gave way to bone, bone to dust, and yet still she fought on in her dreams. Her reality was there now, after all. One day however she thought of the solid, waking reality, for a moment, longingly, it had been aeons since she felt something other than the floating haze of the Dreamscapes that she now traversed. She had forgotten the smell of the Sea, The glorious view of the Sun rising to a new day. The grand and fickle beauty of the Moon. or the twinkling of the stars. or the gentle breeze caressing her face. In that moment of reverie the dreamscape around her took on a semblance of that place. Of that time. It was a moment of weakness, for the nightmare rose then and there and struck out, pulling itself free. When she realized this she knew she had doomed the world, and cried. Many months passed, her dreams nothing but the empty and eternal sorrow of knowing she had failed. But then she felt a new presence, a child who bore the same magic she herself was so skilled with. From her the maiden learned of the world, and after several months was relieved to hear the Nightmare had been bound once again, permanently and forever. In that Dreamscape she taught the child of what she knew, for few had the makings to be an Oneiromancer, a mage of dreams. With this done maybe now she could fade into the Dreamscapes of the world and truly find rest, but first… she wished to thank the heroes and the mages of that world. For performing the solemn duty that she had aeons before set out to do. For once there was indeed a Dreaming Maiden… but now, now she had Awoken, though now in a feebler body than the one she had held within her dreams, made in the likeness of what she had been before she had dove into those infinite realms. She now makes her way to the Institute of War. She wonders though as the solidity of form and the gentle breeze caressed her body, the Sea's salty smell and the Warmth of the Sun assaulted her senses, whether she would prefer to stay, just a while longer.

stats: hp: 508 hp+: 74.25 (1844.5 at 18) = roughly = to sion hp5: 3.5 hp5+: 0.675 (15.65 at 18) = roughly between gragas and twisted fate ad: 45.8 ad+: 2.7 (94.4 at 18) = roughly = to lulu AS: 0.8 AS+: 4% (1.686 at 18) (probably the fastest, too much math: olaf starts with: 0.7 who is one of the top 5 basic attack at level 1. AR: 17 AR+: 3 (35 at 18) = to orianna MR: 30 MR+: 1.25 (52.5 at 18) less than = to all units w/ magic resist but higher than those without magic resist (a good 50/50 MS: 355 (= to YI) range: 175 (=to wukong basic attack) secondary bar: Gossamer approximations are based on early 2015 stats as given by the league of legends wikia. obviously some may have changed since then.

passive Fantasy: every second Unelma gains (3+ champion level) gossamer she can hold a maximum of 24000 gossamer. every 240 gossamer increases Unelma’s: Attack Speed by 1%, Movement Speed by 5%, and reduces cooldown times by 1%. Dreaming: while affected by Chimerical Ascension Unelma loses (10+champion level) gossamer every second, and the benefits to Attack Speed, Movement Speed, and cooldown are doubled. the champion does not lose gossamer upon death.

Dream Ravager Strike cost: none/(1/2/3/4/5) Cooldown 8 (dreaming: 4) Q: active: +85/90/95/100/120 damage to next basic attack. Passive: each basic attack adds +1/2/3/4/5 gossamer. if a basic attack kills an enemy champion this effect adds twice the gossamer instead. Q: Dreaming: toggle: basic attack hits all targets in a range of 200/225/250/275/350, each attack costs 1/2/3/4/5 gossamer.

Inescapable Nightmare Pursuit: cost: none Cooldown 30/28/26/24/22 (dreaming 10/9/8/7/6) range: 900 W: dashes towards a target champion, if an enemy the target is stunned for 0.75/1.0/1.25/1.5/1.75 seconds while stunned the next basic attack deals 2x damage and the stun is removed. if an ally is targeted they heal for 45 / 85 / 125 / 165 / 205 (+5% per 10% of health missing) hp and become immune to crowd control effects for 1/2/3/4/5 seconds.

Dreaming: dashes towards a target champion, if an enemy the target is stunned for 1.0/1.25/1.5/1.75/2.0 seconds while stunned the next basic attack deals 2x damage and the stun is removed. if an ally is targeted they heal for 45 / 85 / 125 / 165 / 205 (+5% per 10% of health missing) hp and become immune to crowd control effects for 1/2/3/4/5 seconds. the character may reactivate this skill 1 extra time within 3 seconds, doing so knocks the target back a distance of 900 dealing basic attack damage and removing the stun, if an ally is targeted in this way both the user and the target receive the same healing effect as the first. each use costs 2/4/6/8/10 gossamer. cooldown starts after the 2nd use fades or is used.

Gossamer Explosion: cost: 10 cooldown 20/18/16/14/15) range 650 E: lobs a 225/250/275/300/325 radius gossamer ball towards the ground, enemies within are slowed by 25%, allies receive a 10% increase in movement and attack speed, the user while within the field is stealthed. this field lasts 10 seconds. activating the skill again deals 45/85/125/165/205 (+45%AD) damage to all enemies within, but removes the field instantly.

Grand Awakening: cost: varies cooldown 180 range varies. E: Dreaming: this consumes all remaining gossamer the character currently has and they begin to channel for 10 seconds revealing the user on the map a black ring surrounds and slowly contracts around the user to indicate time left, all hostile targets within chimerical ascensions field receive (gossamer consumed) true damage. towers, and inhibitors receive half of this damage instead, the nexus and bosses take 0 damage. they are immune. this removes Chimerical Ascension’s field and heals all allies for half the amount of gossamer consumed, which can overheal applying a shield on all allies that decays at 15 health per second. any gold and exp received from targets killed from this effect is ¼ normal.

Chimerical Ascension: Cooldown 180, range: (Current Gossamer upon use) cost: 60/45/30

the character channels for 5 seconds, becoming invulnerable and untargetable for the duration, after which a area of effect with a radius of (current gossamer) is created. all allies within this field receive a +10/20/30% attack speed, movement speed, and 5/10/15% cooldown reduction, all enemies receive a 10/15/20% slow. while within this field the character uses the “dreaming” form of their skills, which are more powerful. the center of this aoe is where the character first activates this skill. this effect ends if at any time the character leaves the area of effect or runs out of gossamer. enemy versions of this champ receives half the benefits and may activate all dreaming skills but cannot use grand awakening. grand awakening is set to a 20/15/10 second cooldown.

now onto the tips/strategy:

holding one of the highest movement speeds in the game (on par with master yi, and pantheon) use her quick movement and attack speed to rush in, hit the target, and get out of harm's way.

be wary of her low defense and health, she doesn't have much of either so hit and run tactics are your best bet.

building up her gossamer is the key for late game, while she does gain some passively it is best to rank up dream ravager strike quickly to gain its bonus.

Inescapable nightmare pursuit is great for getting in and out of fights, hitting an enemy stuns them while hitting an ally heals them. use this to support your teammates and take out enemy stragglers. using its dreaming effect even allows you to heal you and a teammate twice, useful for sticky situations, but be wary of your gossamer levels.

gossamer explosion can be used to slow pursuing enemies, haste allies, or as a means to hide yourself from an enemy. even better when you're within its radius you're invisible. or you can detonate it to deal decent damage to an enemy if you need to.

Grand Awakening takes 20/15/10 seconds to cooldown upon it becoming available, while this may feel like forever if you can hold your own, or better run away for a long enough time its effect can be very devastating, however it only affects targets within the radius of Chimeric Ascension so at least consider holding off until all enemy champions are within its radius before using it. in addition it does not affect bosses or the enemy's nexus, but it can affect turrets minions and the small jungle mobs. this can definitely turn a match around in an instant. just ensure you're in a safe place before you try and activate it otherwise you may be singled out as a target as you are revealed on the map. note that effects that render an enemy untargetable makes this attack useless.

Chimerical Ascension is a AoE that slows enemies and speeds up allies. the area is equal to the amount of gossamer you have upon activation and opens up the dreaming level of abilities and the ability “Grand Awakening”. while this in of itself a powerful ability its center is where the user is currently at upon using the skill, and if they leave the area the effect ends, it lasts until the user runs out of gossamer, which steadily drains away. it is best used when the champion is at the center of the map at max gossamer, as its radius is enough to completely envelop most, if not all, of summoners rift. a trip to the realm of nightmares awaits soon after. its area is indicated on the map by a black border and an “anti-image” effect.

when going against unelma:

due to her low defense and health she is very squishy but be wary of her high movement and attack speed as she will easily be able to move about the map. however her attacks damage isnt all that high so thornmail item 3075 is a solid defense.

if gossamer explosion is on the the map, try NOT to walk right into it. she may be inside it and it will slow you down.

when Chimerical Ascension is used try to get out of its radius or be ready to use some effect that renders you untargetable (zhonia's hourglass item 3157 comes to mind). if she uses Grand Awakening your in for a world of hurt if your inside Chimerical Ascension’s area and dont stop her in time AND not use such an effect. however afterwards not only do you know where she was, but she is heavily weakened so if you survive that you will be able to probably secure at least a kill against her (hopefully, unless you fed her)
