To be fair one such magical item was apparently some immortal dude stuck in a mirror that Thresh could torture over and over again forever, so he's still pretty into torture I guess.
shadowhunter44441 votesOne of those things was a man who could never die whose skin he carved off with a hook repeatedly. And after he died he became the same Thresh we know. But I do also prefer the Jailer story. Of course, it was only ever a campfire tale, and if you want you can treat the new lore as the same -- just a theory of his origin.
