Alaric - The Forgotten One

Lore Within the wastelands of Urtistan is the former domain of a powerful sorcerer (Zilean's Watchtower.) A city that was once held powerful magic, was laid to ruin. Rarely are these ruins disturbed, yet somehow Alaric was drawn to this place. With his tribe having been decimated by a terrifying creature, Alaric was the only survivor. As he entered the clock tower his mind began to unravel itself. Long has his tribe been sensitive to the magical energies within the flats, but this was somehow different. Alaric ventured further and further into the clock tower. With every step, more of his mind was locked away by the temporal enchantments that had been placed by Zilean all those years ago. Even with his mind tearing it's own memories apart, Alaric continued on. The thought of revenge drove him forward. It consumed him until that was all there was to salvage from his tattered mind. When Alaric finally reached the top of the clock tower only the image of the monster that destroyed his people and the need for revenge engrossed him. His appearance. twisted from the effects of his own biology and the enchantments, now matched his mental state. Alaric was merely shell of his former self.

The time spent within the clock tower had granted Alaric mnemonic abilities. In his own right he had become a powerful sorcerer, yet his own potential is limited because of his own lack of memory and self-control. Without any clues on where to begin his search, he used his new found abilities to access the residual memories of the one who once owned this clock tower. Through these memories Alaric saw visions of the league. The creatures and warriors who took part in this were his first clue to finding his target. As he passed through lands and battles on his way to the league, he became something of a myth. Stories spoke of a man who appeared and disappeared just as he had arrived. Those who witnessed Alaric could neither remember his face or his deeds. To most he was simply a fleeting memory, destined to be forgotten.

"A man is only as powerful as the memories that drive him." - Alaric

Abilities

**Afterthought (Passive) **= Alaric can "store" damage that enemy champions deal to him for up to 3 seconds. Only activated with auto attacks. If Alaric auto attacks the champion that attacked him, the damage that he stored is added to his basic attack as magic damage. LV1 - 25% of auto attack damage stored. LV6 - 50% of auto attack damage stored. LV11 - 75% of auto attack damage stored. LV16 - 100% of auto attack damage stored.

Flashback (Q) = Alaric's next auto attack deals bonus physical damage. If the target is a champion they will also take bonus magic damage 3 seconds after the initial attack. The magic damage is doubled if Flashback is used while Afterthought is active for that target.

Bonus Physical Damage: 30/60/90/120/150 (+20% bonus AD) Delayed Magical Damage: 15/30/45/60/75 (+20% bonus AD) Cost: 40 MP Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4

Nostalgia (W) = Alaric throws a knife that deals physical damage in a straight line. If this ability hits a target and is reactivated, Alaric will teleport behind the target.

Physical Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+80% bonus AD) Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 Range: 600

Recollect (E) = Alaric's memory returns him to his location 3 seconds ago. He regains HP equal to half the damage he has taken within 3 seconds of activating this ability.

Self Heal: 50% of damage dealt in the last 3 seconds since activation Cost: 80 MP Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10

Splintered Memory (R) = Alaric "stores" damage from all sources while he has his ult off cooldown. Alaric can activate this ability to deal AOE damage to enemies within 625 range of himself. Alaric makes every enemy effected by his ultimate physically relive the memories of pain he has taken.

Maximum Damage Stored: 100/200/300 (+150% AD) Maximum Physical Damage: 100/200/300 (+150% AD) AOE Range Around: 625 Cost: 100 Mana Cooldown: 120/100/80

Playstyle: Alaric is meant to be played as an assassin in top or mid lane. He should be played to flank minion waves and get at the enemy behind them. His damage output is great if timed well and he can escape with minimum damage while dealing large amount to his lane opponent. Alaric runs into trouble with ranged opponents who can stay behind minion waves, but his natural mobility can make up for this.

Alaric is very good at ganking other lanes because of his burst potential. His teamfight potential is strong, but he can also be a weak link. Because he is rather squishy, he can also be a major weak link. CC is very effective against Alaric.

His strengths lie in jumping into a fight, doing massive damage, and then getting out. In particular he is very good against isolated ADCs. Because of their high auto attack damage, it makes Alaric's own passive much, much stronger.

Feedback: Would very much appreciate feedback. Rating it between 1 - 10 is welcome and very helpful. Whether it's bad or good. Would appreciate not being rude about it though. :3

Edits: I may edit some things as I try balancing it in my head. Anything that is too strong or too weak will probably be changed eventually.

I feel like his passive is really broken unless there are some restrictions put onto it. Recollect would probably be really hard to code in its current state. Maybe try making it more like LeBlanc's Distortion without a dash and a required return?

Also, he would be a really weird assassin, in that he needs to be hit a decent amount before he can actually kill anyone. Somewhat counter intuitive and I think really hard to make work well in game since he needs to deal lots of damage so he needs decent damage items, but not too many or he won't be able to build up his damage battery. With that dynamic he is likely low on health before he tries to burst someone so any cc (or unexpected damage) is lethal to him at that point (even more than with most assassins).

I'd play him

HP: 572.8 (+85.0) -> that's more than GP lvl 1 HP, most of every character in lol with scaling near Dr.Mundo who is pretty much tank. Base stat seems like he would do great as some tank which doesn't seem to be intended

Passive -> feels kinda underpowered/overpowered ? kind of WW, you want to be dueling with everything that Autoattacks so he seems like counter to any kind of bruiser/ADC

Nostalgia (W) -> Cooldown of 5th skill lvl is definitely too fast, with 40% CD it makes for about 3,4s CD which makes that guy more mobile than Lee Sin and even Kassadin

Recollect (E) -> While I like sustain in this ability, I guess that ability to return to place 3 seconds before might be kinda broken to make in programming sense... like What to do if in exactly 3 second time you were actually between walls ? Also ability is kinda iffy since it negates ability for any counterplay (kinda like Zed's R just without big ass cooldown)

Splintered Memory (R) -> it feels kind of ok, dunno about AoE range tho, it seems kinda big ?

Playstyle -> He kinda doesn't feel like Assassin, he feels like more dmg oriented bruiser with ability to jump around... With that Soaking damage mechanic I also believe he might be able to be quite successful duelist.
