Legacy of Legends? (League of Legends Classic)

I was remembering my early days of playing League. In doing that I was remembering item builds, some of which no longer exists due to items being retired. It got me to thinking how great it would be to have a game type in which you could not only use all of the retired items but you could also use all of the current champions as they are now and as they were before updates and reworks. It would be nice to see ionic spark back on Teemo or get to run around with the old Sion, Fiora, or Gangplank. Perhaps make this mode available with the original Twisted Treeline map or throw a completely new map into the mix? Maybe even make it an option in custom games.

That being said, I know there will likely be balancing issues. So to partially remedy that I suggest adding bans for champions as done with draft mode on the Rift. In addition to banning a champion, you can also ban an item. With the retired items available I'm sure people can come up with nice substitutes for normal builds.

A nice story for it could be done easily via Zilean and Ekko's time manipulation gone awry.
