Dicot, The Flower Child
Dicot is a a champion geared towards the Support/Mage hybrid role. She is a very mana hungry champion that can supply some burst damage or heavy support depending on how she spends her secondary resource Nutrients. I feel that she is a mix between the traditional
Karma/
Lux/
Morgana/
Zyra with a hint of
Janna yet still staying unique. Her kit focuses on choices for both the player and the enemy team. The player has to make a trigger decision whether to use Dicot's empowered abilities to support or burst, to choose the greater good. Or the enemy team has to choose the lesser evils when facing empowered abilities.
Her Strengths: A good combo for controlling multiple people. Can proactively set up skills for healing and protecting someone before initiating/ganking. Great in a team setting. Can hold her own in lane. Can use 2 empowered abilities if she has the resources saved up.
Her Weaknesses: Very mana dependent. Longer cooldowns. Less sustained damage means late game makes it hard for her to duel with someone. No escape ability. Loses her passive buff if she has no resources and can only do a empowered support combo or empowered burst combo, not both at the same time.
Starting Stats: Health: 345 (+72) Health Regen: 4.75 (+.45) Mana: 270 (60) Mana Regen: 7.5 (+.75) Range: 550 Attack damage: 51 (+3.1) Attack Speed: 0.625 (+2.01%) Armor: 13 (+3) Magic Resist: 30 Mov. Speed: 340
Passive: Nutrients Dicot collects a secondary resource called nutrients while walking. Nutrients can be spent on abilities. Dicot gains 10 nutrients for every 200 yards traveled. Dicot can have up to a maximum of 200 nutrients at one time. 100 nutrients are spent on enhanced abilities. At max nutrients Dicot gains a passive depending on which environment she is in. Within 1000 Range of ANY turret or in either Team's base: 10/15/20 Armor and Magic Resist. Brush: After taking no damage for 5 seconds, gains .5%/1%/1.5% Health/Mana per 5 seconds. Everywhere else (Grass/Ground/Water): A flat movement speed bonus of 15/25/35. (This covers such a wide range, because there no water in some maps) -Numbers can be tweaked, but the general concept is that Dicot has to adapt to the surrounding AND situation to find the right time to take advantage of the passive. The brush and tower passive could be switched if either are too powerful early or late game.
Liferoot (Q): Mana Cost: 80/105/130/155/180. Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds. Range: 750 Places a shield on target friendly champion absorbing 80/110/145/180/205 (+.5 AP) for 4 seconds. With 100 Nutrients: If the shield expires through damage, it explodes doing the absorb amount in magic damage in a 400 radius. If the shield is left after 4 seconds it will heal the target for 5%/7%/9%/11% (+1% per 100 AP) of targets current health. -Once again, numbers can/should be tweaked. I wanted this ability to kinda be a choice ability. "Do I want save up my nutrients to empower this? Then, "should I use it ability for healing or for damage?" The enemy can also affect the decision by choosing the lesser of 2 evils: the heal or the damage. At max rank if you have around 300-400 AP it is healing for 21-22% of the targets current health. This is a little less than Karma's self heal with the same stats.
Snaggleroot(W): Mana Cost: 50/65/80/95/110 Cooldown: 23/20/17/14/11 seconds. Range: 550 (skillshot) Deals 70/95/115/140/165 (+.60 AP) and root the target for 1/1.25/1.50/1.75/2.0 seconds. With 100 Nutrients: After the root ends, it will bounce to another enemy champion within 400 range of initial target doing the same damage and root.
-This can be an offensive ability or defensive ability. I see it as a stronger
in terms of cc, yet does less damage. It is like a bouncing
rune prison almost when empowered.
Steelroot(E): Mana Cost: 80/95/110/125/140 Cooldown: 12 seconds at all ranks. Range: 500 Dicot shoots out roots in a 60° cone. All allies struck gain 5/10/15/20/25 Armor and Magic Resist for 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds. All enemies struck take 60/95/130/165/200 (+.5 AP). With 100 Nutrients: All champions hit with the spell are now tethered by a root to Dicot. For every champion tethered gives Dicot a stack of Nurishment. Each stack of Nurishment gives Dicot 1/2/3/4/5 Armor and Magic Resist for 5 seconds. Stacks are lost if Allies or Enemies move further than a 650 range from Dicot and break the tether. Enemy champions move 30% slower when tethered.
-Gives Dicot a wave clearing skill. With nutrients it give a defensive perk that can be negated partially by your own team and the enemy team. It plays into the kit I am wanting with Dicot, opponents choosing between the lesser of 2 evils. It, coupled with Dicot's passive and allows for zany movement in a team fight.
Worldroot(R): Mana Cost: 75/125/175 + 25 mana per second channeled. Cooldown: 175/150/135 seconds. Radius: 600 Dicot roots herself into the ground absorbing the nutrients around her. Dicot gains her passive buff during the channel of her ult. Enemy champions in the radius have their nutrients sucked out of them and take 50/75/100 (+ .5 AP) damage each second for 3/4/5 seconds. Dicot and Allies in the radius receive those nutrients and are healed for 150/200/250 (+ .5% AP). Dicot becomes vulnerable while rooted, taking 25% more damage, is rooted in place, but is immune to knockups while she channels the spell.
Depending on Dicot's current passive, allies receive a buff and enemies are debuffed for the duration (these effects stay even if they leave the radius).
Turrets/Team Bases: 10/20/30 Armor and Magic Resist for Allies | -10/-15/-20 Armor and Magic Resist reduction for enemies.
Brush: Allies are healed for 2% of their max heath each second the buff is active. | Enemies bleed for and additional 2% of their max health each second the debuff is active.
Grass/Ground/Water: Allies have their movement speed increased by 25% for the duration of the buff | Enemies have their movement speed decreased by 25% for the duration of the buff.
-So this is a very powerful ult. It is also a very expensive spell with a long cooldown (81 seconds with max CDR at max rank). It can turn around a team fight completely if it is channeled to its maxed duration. It can be silenced/stunned. Dicot cannot cancel it in anyway other than running out of mana. She is stuck there for the duration of the spell and takes more damage.
Lore:
Kumungu Jungle was a beautiful place, but with beauty comes a cost. That cost hit Dicot hard, for it changed her fellow kind. Her people in order stay full and bright had to suck the land, the animals, sometimes even the some of the adventurous travelers dry. Dicot never liked it, she loved the animals, she even loved the few travelers that passed. She gave back to the land that she fed from, but her sisters did not.
As they grew hungry, they grew viscous. The tore apart the jungle eating everything...until there was nothing. She and the few sister she had left watched as most of her kind died out, withering unto a husk and blowing away in the wind. Her sister Zyra, was always protective of her, but Dicot knew that the hunger would eventually overtake her. Dicot also knew that she also had only a limited amount of time before she wilted away. It did come, Zyra broke, Dicot watched from the trees as her sister consumed the poor lady in the robes. What happened next is what drove Dicot to the League.
Her sister morphed before her very eyes into a mutation of the lady she had just consumed. A husk of her former self remained. Dicot, a timid little plant, was scared and hid silently in the foilage. Eventually Zyra was gone, left her feeding spot, left the jungle, left Dicot. Dicot was alone, scared, but knew with just a glance at Zyra that she would want more food. She would want more of the power she just consumed. Only Dicot could stop her. So she left her home in the jungle for the for the first time in her life. Scared little Dicot knew that she had to stop Zyra anyway possible, even if she had to pull the weed out herself.
Straight out of the jungle she came across a bunch of people in robes. They all looked like the one Zyra consumed. Once seen, they flocked around Dicot like she was some sort anomaly. Dicot only knew that she must tell them what her sister did. The robed people took the news gravely, but understood the problem that had arisen. They introduced themselves as Summoners of the League. Dicot had no idea what that was, but she knew she needed their help to her find her sister. The first thing they did was cast a ritual over her, so she would not wilt outside her home. They told her all she needed to do was to drink from the waters and eat from the ground and she would be okay. They then sent her to the Shadow Isles to find a lonely treant. They warned her that it would be dangerous, but she knew she had to do it.
A long journey later and she had finally found it, the Shadow Isles. The air stank of death and the the most ominous feeling hung around. She know that this place was void of like. She had to find the Twisted Treant. After some searching, she noticed apparitions of people flocking towards the center of the Isle, she had a feeling she need to go there. Finding the treant fight against the shades she knew that helping him was the only way to stop her sister. An so she dawned her thorns and roots and dashed in. Together, the treant and her pushed back the shades and escaped to the shores of the isle. He introduced himself as Maokai, the last living thing left on this once beautiful, life filled isle. Dicot found a kindred soul, and shared her story. Maokai knew instantly what needed to be done. He took the Life Spark he had been protecting and infused Dicot with half of it. He didn't what would happen to Dicot, but he trusted her and knew that she could help protect the spark. Then the most beautiful thing happened. Like a flower blooming in the summer, so did Dicot. She became more humanoid, much like her sister, she shed her old self and embraced her new self. With Maokai, she cast herself out into the sea, know that she will find her sister and will stop her at any cost.
"A wilted flower still has thorns, A nourished flower still has beauty." -Dicot
Her look: She is a flower, to be specific she is a dicot flower originating from the same place as Zyra. A dicot is a flowing plant that has petals in multiples of 4s or 5s. Their roots also originate from the bottom of the seed. They have bigger leaves as well. Examples of Dicots are Sunflowers/Roses/Peace Lilys/Morning Glories. My idea for Dicot is for her to look about the age of Anne, with her bottom have being composed of mostly roots that are clumped together until they hit the ground, kinda like a tree. I would like her upper half to be human but with flowers covering most of her torso, with maybe a a bigger flower near her lower back in the placement of a reversed sash. I want her head/face to look human like Zyra's, but made out of five long petals. Color schemes I am thinking whites/purples/pinks/greens. Her attack animation would be hitting champions with vines or roots, sort of like Thresh. As for her abilities, I have no idea. Skies the limit I guess.
Thank you for taking you time to read this. I always appreciate feedback. Don't worry to much about the numbers, tweakage can happen. Also, if you can draw, please post some concepts. I am horrible at drawing, but have great ideas. I'll credit you if I like the image! Thanks!
