Rework suggestion for Dr. Mundo (Discussions are welcome!)

I am aware that as of recently Riot has said that they will be focusing on making more champions rather than doing VGU's, however I have what I think is a cool VGU idea for Dr. Mundo, that preserves important parts of his kit while turning him away from the stat stick category and making him more skill based without removing his simplicity as a champion.

Now the main element of Dr. Mundo, in my opinion, is his massive amount of regeneration and the fact that he is a juggernaut. First of all, keeping him mana-less is the best choice as most of the Mundo mains would prefer it. Now back to his regeneration element. I think a cool concept we could look for is making his regeneration itself less stat checky. And what I mean by that is: Don't give him flat amounts of massive regeneration from his kit, Instead lock his regeneration behind some sort of barrier, but make the barrier simple. I was thinking perhaps his passive could be that through his abilities he gains regeneration vials that give him some sort of regeneration over some sort of time (E.G: 12% of his health over 5 seconds), of course the actual numbers can be changed. And another part of his passive could be increased damage over time, as many juggernauts usually have some sort of similar mechanic (Think Darius with his passive stacks, or Mordekaiser with his passive as well.). I was thinking along the lines of: Mundo gains 2% extra post-Mitigation damage on all abilities and auto-attacks per second to a cap of 20%. This means that, similar to other juggernauts, the longer the fight goes on the stronger he gets, if you don't deal with him immediately he will become trouble. Also due to it being post-mitigation would make it slightly weaker if you do not go any armor pen, or lethality (Which you should not go, as you will become squishier, however it would give Mundo a possible bruiser type build to open up his possible playstyles.), although it could be changed for pre-mitigation if that is the direction you guys at Riot want to go.

Now onto his actual kit, I think a cool idea for his q is to make it a melee ability. Change its name to cleave and make it a semi-circle aoe damage in front of Mundo, which depending on how many enemy champions it hits, gives him a different amount of regeneration vials, up to a cap of three. This would give him some team fighting presence and add in decision factors. For example whether to use q on one enemy right now since you aren't in position to attack many. Or to wait and try and hit a 3-man q on their team for the triple regen vials.

Now I am not entirely sure on the rest of his kit but I think this is a good start for such a design. Of course I am not expecting any of my version to become final at all but I think its a cool design idea to perhaps use as a base for his reworked kit. Thank you for reading, and I am open to feedback on why this is, or isn't a good kit design.

They already said what and in which direction his re-work will be concentrated :(
