The Diseased Child
Prolog: Im not the biggest one for character designs, but after finding one that I found... uninteresting, a friend and I decided to design a character. This is the result. She doesn't have a name, but we found the way shes designed and in general how many characters there are in this game that use poison type effects (Most notoriously Teemo) That a character that utilizes that would be right up the alley. Points of notice, I dont have many stats for her or mana costs. I'm not a game designer, I dont know whats OP or broken, and I can't say I know whats best. I'll leave that to prying eyes or the professionals. The Diseased child is free to be used by anyone, be it Riot or someone who just likes the character design. So Riot, steal my character design and make it your own. Please. So, here she is.
The Diseased Child is designed to be played as a support though can be played mid lane if she works well with the jungler. Her kit would be based around poison, CC, and surprisingly enough dying. While dying isn't recommended in League, her passive allows her to die a bit more freely helping her allies while still being a pretty annoying threat.
Passive: The Zaun Plague
The Diseased Child gives less gold upon dying. While this bonus can be tweaked to any amount, we found that something like 25% less gold would make this target a little less appetizing one vs the ADC, giving the Diseased Child more of a reason to jump into battle to save the ADC vs running for her life. Along side that, she constantly loses health at a 1% ratio at level 1, scaling to 5% at level 18. Naturally, her leveling up will give her a little more health then your typical mage, meaning she doesn't have to constantly worry about it, but it should be on your mind. As she is constantly taking damage, passives that function outside of combat shouldn't work, or if they do, work at a lesser extent. (Examples being
and
) However, at the same extent, she heals off of all poisons that she uses, or an ally uses within a certain radius. If an enemy is caught by say
s poison or
s, this should give her health based off of how much is dealt, giving her a regeneration vs. the loss, making her a good champ to work with others. This of course means that while in mid lane or jungling its very likely she will lose early game, if shes paired up with someone with poison (or ADC, more on that on her W) she could survive and last longer then most supports.
Q: Disease filled Syringe The Diseased child throws a syringe filled with the same disease plaguing her, dealing a prick of damage before poisoning them for a period of time and slowing them. This should give her a means of poking enemys in lane and make enemys less willing to dive for allies while she herself is always hurting. This also gives her a way to tag out stragglers, possibly off enemys that have escaped for her ADC, or help Jungle clean up.
W: Diseases with friends! The Diseased Child passively gives allies around her a poison effect to their attacks based on her AP. This makes her survive easier in-lane against her passive, and while she may not be able to stay in lane as much as a normal support if done incorrectly, it should still give her ADC that much needed push when she isn't off buying potions or something. This can easily be used against the enemy team in a team-fight, keeping her near the back and buffing everyone up, forcing the enemy team to either focus her down and give her what she wants, that sweat sweat release, or suffer the consequences.
E: Pocket full of Poseys The Diseased Child's E makes her a driving point for supports. It cures all allies around her for CC, instead putting it on herself. If the allies were poisoned, it also heals them for a scaling based on damage dealt, and her AP. This makes a CC heavy team that just stuns everyone, a little more run for their money, giving a team that can't fight it as much a fighting chance. While it certainly means the death of her, if she runs into the jungle to help her jungler who was stunned or slowed, but as her passive gives less gold, it can still provide some help, and should provide a ADC a much needed get away, or even kill, if so be it. When it doesn't mean death and just means the win to a team-fight, it makes everything ever so sweeter.
R: Miasma Fog To start, Miasma Fog's passive increases the duration of poison like effects (these include things like brands burn dps or gangplanks.) on enemy champions within a range of her. This gives her a good reason to stick around others who do bring those effects to the table, while doing her own thing with protecting. Finally, Miasma Fog coats the battlefield in a thick fog of poison, causing enemys to get dealt damage over time that can pick up runners or initiate fights. Further more, while Miasma Fog is active, the health bar that appears above all ally and enemy champions disappear for the apposing team. This requires enemys to either be in constant communication to help win a fight, or quick micro-managing to check how much health they do have. This should, in turn, cause enough chaos and confusion to help your team swoop in and score a few kills. The tanks low on health? The ADC doesn't know that, unless they purposely click the tank and check via the hub. Alternatively, another idea for Miasma Fog is a harsher fog of war when activated, poison, and a slow. Though, to be honest, we like the health bars idea better. It provides a combat trick not seen before, requires quick thinking and team management on the enemys part, and possibly turn a losing game into a winning one if used correctly.
Extra Stuff! This stuff is completely optional and doesn't have any effect on the champion except make a cool champ.
Appearance and Basic stuff.: She should wear a typically hospital gown of some sort, sickly and frail with longish black hair. Typically shy, more of an outcast for whatever weird disease she possesses. Age wise, she would be around Ekkos age, maybe a little younger. She would carry around syringes that she uses to swipe at enemys.
Lore: In general I feel that she would fit best in Zaun, because of the unchecked industry and experiments it would be rather easy to catch an unknown disease of some sort. She would have been stuck in a room most of her life, not seeing much of the outside world except from story books. Though, of all the stories, she would find the stories of the League the most interesting and saddening, wanting to protect and help everyone in it. As time went on, she would have been discovered and found out that she didn't catch a disease, but instead had it transfered onto her somehow, and learnt that she could cure people rather easily and have it put on her like a living disease catcher. The League would notice this, and much to her joy, offer her a place among them to give her a chance to heal and cure the people she looked up to.
Friends and Enemys: As she would be more interested in curing those she looked up to, she wouldn't want to become enemies with anyone, even the big and scary. She would be hesitant around those who poison such as Singed, Twitch, or even Casseopia, but wouldn't hesitate to say she found Twitch to be adorable. She would want to be Amumu's friend, but would be too shy to say anything, and while she wouldn't blame them, she would be jealous or angry towards Zilean and Ekko for having a power that may help her live. She would be tempted by Tahm, despite reading about him in her books, and would find people like Lulu, Gnar, Veiger, and even Ziggs to be cute as can be.
Skins: A few basic skins that could come out with her or over the course of time would be a story book skin, of her dressed up like a knight in shining armor. Her normal hospital gown would be replaced with shining rusted armor, her syringes replaced with swords or shields, mirroring her desire to protect those around her, even at the cost of her own health. Another could be her attempt to mirror Ekko and Zilean, her normal clothing being replaced with old fashion 50s clothing as though she had traveled through time, with a fake watch or time machine of some sort. A third could be her dressed up similar to Tahm, once more mirroring him as though she had traveled with him and came back, wearing a tattered top hat, an over-sized or ruined jacket and a fake mustache. A fourth could be a pajama skin, wearing pajamas of some sort (perferably with twitch faces on them) and carrying around a pillow, or similar to reverse Annie with a Twitch or Gnar costume.
Epilog: So, thus ends the Diseased Child. Built to help those around her when it comes to CC. This should give a more used option when it comes to protecting from crowd control effects, instead of an item no one uses. It provides a challenging champion that, while suffering in early game, can provide and turn the tides in late game. If you have an opinion or suggestion, feel free to live it in the comments. I cant promise that I'll tread back here, but it would be nice for people to discuss a champion that I made. Thank you for your time.
