Lamod, Shepherd of the Dead

Souls are known to be a source of power in the realm of Runeterra, wielded only by the immoral. Powerful beings walk the earth, carrying relics to collect the souls from the damned, but none has ever come close to defeating the unassailable Lamod, the Shepherd of the Dead.

Legends speak of a mysterious figure shrouded in a ragged ceremonial robe, carrying a staff made from the backbone of an angle. He only appears where the pungent smell of death lingers, and only those who have survived catastrophes bear witness to this angel of death.

"After the war ended, I woke up and nobody was alive. Everyone around me, James, Georgie, all of them were dead. I wanted to cry, but I was too scared. Before I could cry, a thick mist enveloped the battlefield. I heard something coming from it as if it were so heavy each step shook the ground. Then I saw him. "

"The mist parted as he stepped out of the shadows, his staff glowing an eerie green. The sound I've heard came from his staff, it was him knocking against the ground. Then I noticed something, something he did to the corpses. With each knock, he was summoning the souls of the deceased, drawing it to join him. They retained the appearances of the body, but apparently not the mind. I even felt something tugging against me, I hope it wasn't my soul."

"His party grew larger and larger, souls of both enemies and allies drifted towards him like spinning stars in the skies. A door rose from the ground without making a sound, and the souls marched into the swirling portal without hesitation. I could swear I heard that creature laughing, it was like the piercing wind in the winter. As the last one disappeared into the depths, the door vanished, and so did him. The mist disappeared, and though everything seemed the same, I could sense it is different. The warmth, the blood, the pain. All gone. The bodies were as pale as marble, and their lifeless eyes opened wide."
