Star Guardian Zoe
I am personally very ecstatic about the release of this skin and enjoy the concept of her being a corrupted Star Guardian. Also with her being the Aspect of Twilight, it makes perfect sense for her to be a corrupted skin because she represents duality between light and darkness.
I've noted a lot of people saying they don't like the fact that it is a corrupted Star Guardian skin, and that they don't like the color scheme.
I, however, think it's pretty brilliant.
The only thing I don't like about it thus far is the interactions. Although they haven't release an interaction video for Zoe yet, I am hoping her lines change. (This applies for Neeko as well.) She has maintained the same lines for all of her skins and I don't think they fit with the SG Alt Universe narrative like all the other Alt Universe skins.
My theory after reading the Starfall short story, is that Zoe is the old Star Guardian that is referenced by Janna in Chapter 5 "Ghost Stories".
“There was a Star Guardian, once, who decided she’d had enough of the cycle. She didn’t want to return to starlight. She wanted to stay just who she was.” “It’s said that she first came to be in a system full of darkness,” Janna continues. "Because her corner of the galaxy was so dark, they meant everything to her. For a time they were happy. And she was happy with them. Then one day there was a battle. A great evil came, swift and terrible. She lost her sisters in the fight and she became very sad.” “But they say that instead of staying sad, she became angry and turned away from the First Star’s light. They say she followed the evil to where it came from, hoping she could find some way to undo her destiny.”
Thus, the new skin, being a precursor to the expansion upon the Star Guardian Alt Universe narrative - as they said they were going to do - and this is giving us a peek at the antagonists of the Star Guardian Universe.
