"PROJECT: First Strike" is Riot's new way of having Limited Edition?

So this is how they deal with the "Limited Edition" skins of the future? Give special loading screens for those who buy it at the start?

So can we expect in 5 years that will people complain about not getting the special splashes later and they get re-released?

Original Limited Edition skin owners are still waiting for proper compensation and that follow up feedback survey Hippalus promised years ago.

What's the deal with this whole thing? I thought the whole idea of "exclusive content" was gone and not coming back after the Limited Edition fiasco? Why are you doing this again in a slightly different form?

Because it's awesome?! The Skins are staying, but the borders is to let people know you were one of the firsts. Skins shouldn't be 'limited edition' but borders, and icons, that should be okay. And events like PAX and what not, those skins are def not coming back, and that's okay. But come on, complaining over borders? The Skins are staying, you want them for cheaper? wait a couple weeks, if you don't care about limited borders, then don't get em.

you must be one of those who wasnt around to get a first ed skin. I own first ed red card kat and think it's pretty cool! still waiting for right to make my firefighter trist first ed cause i bought it back when it came out before they rereleased it

I seriously doubt it. Borders are enough to be special but not enough (unless you are a poor Yasuo player) to complain about.

I mean. All people really want are their cool cosmetics for their favourite champions. Borders, Icons, and a Skin for whoever their favourite champion may be. I also doubt they're gonna re-release borders. A lot of the Legacy shenanigans that were just re-released were so people who collect skins or want that skin, can have that skin. Sure for a week they took a handful of legacy skins and put them in the shop. To be removed again. Back on topic though. I REALLY doubt they'd re-release them especially since they're going to stay in the shop, but they decided to remove the Borders and Icons, now the people who do have them. Whenever they play with their project skins in the future. Maybe with someone who doesn't have a border. The person without the border can comment on how cool it is that they're one of the people who have the border. It's also one of those things that it kinda saves you money. You get a skin right now. You get a border and Icon. It's like getting a deal at walmart or something. It's limited and has bonuses to doing so. Just be thankful that you're getting bonuses for free now. Rather than IF they re-released borders and icons. Which I've never seen it happen with the icons, and the borders are new. But IF it did happen. You'd have to spend a bonus probably 650 RP for the Icon and however much from the border. That can still be 10 or 20$ worth of RP saved to buy something else.

The limited edition border gives the hippies or hype-people (whatever they're called.) a way to show that they had it before it was cool. resale with non-border will give everyone a chance to play with a skin they enjoy.

As for the old hippie skins that were supposed to be locked away, didn't they get some watermark to say they had it before it was cool and a full RP refund?

I wouldn't be too happy if they put my Urf the manatee WW skin up for sale again, or goth annie, or the rest of the rare and not so common skins I have obtained over the years,its part of the reason to buy them then and there

Basically this is a money grab to double dip. Get those who want it immediately and/or those who want exclusive content and then a week later get those who want it on sale.

Instead of just putting it on sale at the start like most skin reveals or letting people know it will be on sale in a week they have to include some exclusive content that has never had a net positive reaction in the past. You'd think they would learn.

They're just skins,you buy them if you want the border with it or you wait 1 week or you don't buy them at all,not a big deal really.
