Medusa's Head (item)

First of all, I don't have enough experience in LoL analytics to balance this, but here's the idea:

Medusa's Head

50 Ability Power 50 Magic Resistance 50 Armor

Unique Passive: Deals [insert amount here] poison damage to attackers.

Unique Active: Any enemy champions standing in front of the user at activation turns to stone for 3 seconds, leaving them completely paralyzed. The user recieves a buff for 6+ seconds, reducing their health to 5% of maximum health. Any paralyzed champion will die by 1 hit. If the user dies while the buff is active, all enemies that was killed while paralyzed, returns to life with full health. The user regains the health they had before activation when the buff runs out. Cooldown: Looong (dont want to ruin the teamfights completely now, do we?)

The time champions stay paralyzed can be reduced by magic resistance, down to 1 second.

I really wanted to make the effect hit friendly champions too, because this is supposed to be Medusa, but I believe that would cause way too much trolling.

Another idea was to limit the item to 1 per team, but I feel that would interfere with current LoL mechanics. As for now there is no such item and that would also force RIOT to implement a teamwide item limit.

That is all i guess! Feel free to balance this and change the stats or passive as you please, I only added what I though could be fitting for such an active ability and item :)

riot will most probably never call any item Medusa's Head since they are basing name of their items on the lore of the game example: ionian boots of lucidity (ionia is a country in league of legends)

50 ap 50 armor 50 mr already way too strong. just armor and mr together is= to an item with bad active 30 of each or 25 would be more fair.

unique passive is basically thornmail for ap champions. 3 second stun is STRONGEST cc in the game. it will not be on an item. item are supposed to be weaker than ability. turning to stone is already in the game and its cassiopeiaCassiopeia 's ultimate. it stun for half as long. and doesnt stun at all if enemy isnt even looking at her. a buff is a boost, i think you meant debuff.

if that item is used in a 1v1. its a 1 shot kill and if its 1 shot kill, it means there is no point in having tank on your team when facing this item.

just use item and attack once and you killed enemy. if you use item on enemy team that is grouped up and you can 1v5 the enemy team.

even if cd is long, 1 won teamfight and you won the game.

there is already a stat that reduce cc duration.

i think if you want it to be fair and not copy cassiopeia's ultimate:

30 ap 25 armor 25 magic resist.

unique active; send a line of sight that stun first enemy hit for 0.5 seconds(making it possible to miss or be protected by minnions) (0.5 seconds is way more than enaugh to guarantee most combos and allow 1 shot in this game.) and mark the target.

marked target receive (5-25) true dmg per seconds based on level for 5 seconds.

I don't think you are aware of how powerful an item that can literally one shot would become.

The first champion I thought of regardless of it's stats is Caitlyn. AA from far anyone approaches you turn them to stone one shot net back, and ult while waiting for the HP for CD.

Eve/Twitch, Shaco, enemies running? flank them as they come stun them from stealth one shot them. Eve ults out, shaco can clone out, twitch resets.

Akali...just wow...

Cass, (Whom i'm assuming this is for) could easily check with her ult first to catch people with a stun if she feels safe use the active and kill the whole team.

I could go on, but you get the drift this item would be absurd with a active like this.

The item looks decent up until the active. However, 50 AP/ARM/MR +bleed/poison is still too good though as a generic item. I don't think you can balance an item like this for tanks or mids with out everyone with AP ratios wanting it. Maybe if it instead scaled with resistances? 50AP 20ARM/MR Passive: poison Passive 2: +10% of bonus resistances?

At the end of the day though I'm going to have to go with a no.
