Mastery Rank 4 & 5 - Suggestion to Riot

A few months ago, Riot released Champion Mastery, and, on the topic where they announced its creation, they also said "We will work upon this further in the future" in both the actual topic, and the replies that Riot Staff gave to users in the comments.

However, (I'm not sure about this obviously, excuse me if I'm wrong) no new content regarding champion mastery has even been hinted at. which is completely understandable considering how many changes Riot has been working on lately.

Anyways, I have rank 5 on four champions ( ) and rank 4 on three champions ( ), and it kind of hit me: why have I bothered attempting to rank up champions (like intentionally over-playing them to rank them up) when quite frankly it doesn't really make any difference aside from a neat banner and a slick emote.

I was really stumped for a while, because, League of Legends as a community, in my opinion, is based off a mutual gain system between Riot and Users (I.e users buy RP, riot gets money, users get skins or champions or whatever, mutual gain). Having that in mind, it was tough for me to think up a way for Riot to actually benefit from rewarding users for getting to rank 4 & 5 on a champion, and it clicked in my head suddenly.

My idea:

• Upon reaching rank 4, users would gain a 1 win IP boost, but only on the champion they achieved the rank 4 on (this part is simply a nice add on I thought of, just because you know, who doesn't want an IP boost).
• Upon reaching rank 5, users would receive (this is a new concept in itself) a 3 day skin rental on the champion (the skin would be chosen at random). The skin rental (like said) would only be available for three days, starting upon reaching rank 5.

By riot doing this, believe it or not, they would most likely profit. I'll explain why:

• By doing this, riot encourages users to get rank 5 on a champion, meaning they'll get to know a champion pretty well (many people only buy a skin for a champion when they are decent with them).
• By doing this, riot is able to preview a skin to a user, essentially advertising in a way that users wouldn't be irritated by (basically meaning you get to shove a skin down our throat for three days, get us attached to it, and then rip it away so that we most likely crave it).

If someone has gotten rank 5 on a champion with only one skin (I.e Illaoi) and they own the said skin, maybe a 2-3 win IP boost or an IP reward itself, something along those lines.

This is just an idea that came to me, I actually quite like it, I really hope Riot takes it into consideration!
