(WIP) Mikais- The Procyon Weapons Specialist
Hello, so this is my first creation ever and I'd love if you guys could give me pointers on how to tweak, fix, or otherwise modify this character to better fulfill his role and personality. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED, but please no "This sucks" or "Uninstall nub". Also please if you liek something about it state why you like it, helps me understand better! Thanks and hope you enjoy!
So I’m going to try to give you a rundown of what I aimed to get built with this guy. (FYI i have no graphics as of yet, nor do i have any lore. If someone wants to offer help that would be great.) Role: ADC Range: 550 Units Type of damage: Burst(early game)/DPS(late game) Short fallings: Low mobility, ult can be interrupted and roots him. Weak escape, relies on mines and Rail-shot to escape any ganks. Only real cc are his mines, heavily reliant on placement. Abilities are lackluster at low levels. Advantages: Insane dueling potential with burst, and great late game scaling. Strong lane presence with Mines, Rail-shot, and Weapon Overclock. Ult has massive levels of damage when used at full mana and upgraded at lv 16 (potential for 33k dmg if all bullets hit only the five champs)(not including resistances)
Personality: I wanted to play off the fact that hes a Racoon, (and yes i got the inspiration for him from Rocket Racoon) so i tried to make his kit appear to keep people at bay and at a distance. He doesn't like it when people bring up his failings and in turn has a rough personality, almost bully like. Hes a brilliant technician and all he hopes for it to be recognized by everyone for the genius he is.
Passive: Engineer Brilliance: Once every five levels (5/10/15) Mikais may upgrade an ability that has 2 or more points in it to add an additional effect to it. Each ability can only be upgraded once and once upgraded stay permanently upgraded.
Ability Q: Rail-Shot
Description: Mikais stops and charges his rail-gun and fires it dealing physical damage in a straight line, piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot knocks him back. Upgraded: Accelerated shot: Increases Rail-shot’s damage by 10% for each target hit (Max:100%)
Effect: Shoots a beam from Mikais’s Rail-gun and damages all targets in a line.
Purpose: This ability brings the ADC poke into the lane, allowing Mikais to bully and zone if leveled up first. Since Mikais has a smaller attack radius and no dash/speed boost this is his main bully tool and allows him to bully even the longer ranged opponents, (I’m looking at you Cait). But this also serves as his only escape tool, hence the shorter CD to allow for decisions of attack or retreat. Leveling this up sacrifices his early dueling and zone control.
Targeting: Skill-shot in a line Targets allowed: Enemies and Enemy minions. Range: 1350 units Area of Effect: Width=75 units Travel Speed: 6000 (has wind up and displays line AOE) Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 Mana Additional Information: Can be upgraded with his passive.
Rank 1: Mikais becomes immobile for 0.75 seconds while he charges up his Rail-gun. After it’s charged he fires it dealing 50 (+90% AD) in a line piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot sends him 150 units away. Rank 2: Mikais becomes immobile for 0.75 seconds while he charges up his Rail-gun. After it’s charged he fires it dealing 90 (+90% AD) in a line piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot sends him 150 units away. Rank 3: Mikais becomes immobile for 0.75 seconds while he charges up his Rail-gun. After it’s charged he fires it dealing 130 (+90% AD) in a line piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot sends him 150 units away. Rank 4: Mikais becomes immobile for 0.75 seconds while he charges up his Rail-gun. After it’s charged he fires it dealing 170 (+90% AD) in a line piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot sends him 150 units away. Rank 5: Mikais becomes immobile for 0.75 seconds while he charges up his Rail-gun. After it’s charged he fires it dealing 220 (+90% AD) in a line piercing through all targets. The recoil from this shot sends him 150 units away.
Ability W: Weapon Overclock
Description: Mikais overclocks his weapons increasing his Auto-Attack damge for a brief period of time. Upgraded: Weapon Hacking: Increases Mikais’s Attack Speed while not on CD or Active by 0/5/10/15/20%. When activated Mikais’s basic attacks burn his target for (10% AD) over five seconds. This effect can stack up to four times additively and each time refreshes the burn timer. Effect: Increases the damage dealt by Mikais’s auto attacks.
Purpose: This ability brings a brief steroid to Mikais in duels, emphasizing the need to burst them enough to make them retreat. This ability should be used early to gain the upper hand in a duel so Mikais’s abilities can finish off his target. This is meant to amplify Mikais’s lane bulling ability by giving him greater burst at the cost of DPS when used, and to give him more team fight presence when off CD and upgraded. This allows the user to have a choice of either going for the burst or the DPS, but both are not simultaneously inherent in this ability. This ability is designed to allow him to bully close ranged ADCs at the cost of upgrading his ranged poke or Zone control.
Targeting: Self Targets allowed: Self. Range: Self Area of Effect: Self Travel Speed: N/A Cooldown: 15/13/11/9/7 Cost: 80/80/80/70/70 Mana Additional Information: Can be upgraded with his passive. This ability is designed to be a late game powerhouse, hence the high CD and low scaling early.
Rank 1: Mikais Overclocks his guns for the next 1 second increasing his Auto-Attacks damage by 10% AD Rank 2: Mikais Overclocks his guns for the next 1.5 seconds increasing his Auto-Attacks damage by 30% AD Rank 3: Mikais Overclocks his guns for the next 2 seconds increasing his Auto-Attacks damage by 50% AD Rank 4: Mikais Overclocks his guns for the next 2.5 seconds increasing his Auto-Attacks damage by 70% AD Rank 5: Mikais Overclocks his guns for the next 3 seconds increasing his Auto-Attacks damage by 90% AD
Ability E: Anti-personnel Mines
Description: Mikais builds and stores mines and can bury them at his standing location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal reduced damage and effect. Upgraded: Commutative Mines: Gives Mikais a buff that displays how many mines he has placed. This buff is readable by all champions. For 1 mine placed it adds a 50% slow to the target for 1 second. At 2 mines it increases the damage dealt by 50%. At three mines it roots the initial champion (one who stepped on the mine) in place for 1 second. At 4 mines it adds a burn to the target for 50% AD over 3 seconds. These effects stack upon each other so with 4 mines you get all the benefits of 1, 2, 3 and 4 mines placed.
Effect: Places a stored mine at Mikais’s location, and sets it ready to explode upon champion contact. All units caught in explosion receive damage.
Purpose: This is Mikais’s Zone control, and his only escape against ganks. I modeled it after teemo
shrooms, but I didn’t want hundreds of mines everywhere, so I limited his total field capacity to 4. In return, however, they last indefinitely. I gave this ability high damage scaling and base because it will be hard to land effectively, but when it does land I wanted it to feel strong, but not over-bearing like teemo
shrooms. This brings zone control to this champion, which I feel was needed to compensate for his lack of escapes. I feel like this ability will be more rewarding the more you level it and so I wanted to emphasize the overall power due to the lack of reliability. This does bring the element of pre-planning for Mikais and requires him to think where should he place the mines and not just Teemo
it and place them everywhere. I think it complements his lane bully style of abilities.
Targeting: Self Targets allowed: To trigger: Champions, damaged: All enemies.. Range: 50 units Area of Effect: 150 Units Travel Speed: N/A Cooldown: (build time for mines, no actual CD) 20/17/14/11/8 seconds Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Mana Additional Information: Can be upgraded with his passive. This is for ZONING, also no mine can be placed within 50 units of another.
Rank 1: Mikais builds 1 mine every 20 seconds and stores it. He can store up to 4 mines and can bury them at a location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing 50 (+80% AD) physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal 50/25/10 % reduced damage and effect. Mikais can only have 4 mines active at any given time. Mikais can remotely detonate these mines by hold this ability and clicking on the mine.
Rank 2: Mikais builds 1 mine every 17 seconds and stores it. He can store up to 4 mines and can bury them at a location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing 130 (+80% AD) physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal 50/25/10 % reduced damage and effect. Mikais can only have 4 mines active at any given time. Mikais can remotely detonate these mines by hold this ability and clicking on the mine.
Rank 3: Mikais builds 1 mine every 14 seconds and stores it. He can store up to 4 mines and can bury them at a location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing 210 (+80% AD) physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal 50/25/10 % reduced damage and effect. Mikais can only have 4 mines active at any given time. Mikais can remotely detonate these mines by hold this ability and clicking on the mine.
Rank 4: Mikais builds 1 mine every 11 seconds and stores it. He can store up to 4 mines and can bury them at a location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing 290 (+80% AD) physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal 50/25/10 % reduced damage and effect. Mikais can only have 4 mines active at any given time. Mikais can remotely detonate these mines by hold this ability and clicking on the mine.
Rank 5: Mikais builds 1 mine every 8 seconds and stores it. He can store up to 4 mines and can bury them at a location. These mines are stealthed and only explode dealing 330 (+80% AD) physical damage on Champion contact or by remote detonation. Multiple mine explosions within 1.5 seconds deal 50/25/10 % reduced damage and effect. Mikais can only have 4 mines active at any given time. Mikais can remotely detonate these mines by hold this ability and clicking on the mine.
Ability R: Laser Mini-gun
Description: Mikais roots himself and pulls out his Laser Mini-gun and begins firing it dealing physical damage per bullet and applying on hit effects. (Can be interrupted by anything that stops attacks) Upgraded: Enhanced Lasers: All bullets pierce targets dealing 10% less per target hit, and turn rate is increased. Effect: Essentially makes Mikais a Vel-koz/Lucian hybrid: Hes immobile and firing a bunch of bullets.
Purpose: This ability greatly increases Mikais’s fade away damage, of course I’m taking about the opponents fading away . The idea was to emphasize Mikais’s lack of mobility and focus on his DPS/Burst damage. Since most of his abilities are burst like, I wanted to synergize with the W Upgraded passive Attack Speed. I felt like a Mini-gun/Gatling gun would best suit the “Weapons Specialist” approach. Also it gives the player the option of going full rambo for massive damage!
Targeting: Mouse follow Targets allowed: All enemies. Range: 1350 Units Area of Effect: 120 units Travel Speed: 3000 units/s Cooldown: 100/80/60 Cost: 30/35/40 Mana/per bullet Additional Information: Can be upgraded with his passive. This ability will continue until out of mana or canceled
Rank 1: Mikais roots himself and pulls out his Laser Mini-gun and begins firing it at double current attack speed dealing (75% AD) physical damage per bullet and applying on hit effects. This ability will follow the mouse slowly and will continue until out of mana or canceled. Rank 2 Mikais roots himself and pulls out his Laser Mini-gun and begins firing it at double current attack speed dealing (100% AD) physical damage per bullet and applying on hit effects. This ability will follow the mouse slowly and will continue until out of mana or canceled. Rank 3: Mikais roots himself and pulls out his Laser Mini-gun and begins firing it at double current attack speed dealing (125% AD) physical damage per bullet and applying on hit effects. This ability will follow the mouse slowly and will continue until out of mana or canceled.
As you can see i wanted to focus his kit on limiting his opponents options of movement to allow him to hit them with his ult, and make him a powerful laner. I tried to make up for his power by removing a lot of mobility, thus limiting his escape options. I wanted his Mines and Ult to become his signature. I wanted to make his gameplay be more about which abilities to level up first. If you level up your Q first you going for a poke bully lane, and your play style should follow such, but if you want a zone lane, you could level up you E for the high base damage to zone your opponents out of CS, and if you want a kill/duel lane you could level up your W for the high boost in damage.
The reason I proceed his passive at 5/10/15 is because i didn't want the ult to become too over powered, ( also the reason you need two points in the ability to upgrade it) as piercing bullets that only deal 10% less damage to each enemy is pretty OP if you don't have the resistances. Also in order to cut back on the OPness of the Ult I nominated for a high mana per bullet cost so you can go full rambo and have massive DPS for about 7-8 seconds, but then your SOL if they survived and are targeting you.
On to gameplay: Laning: Mikais is an ADC so his goal is to farm up and become that late game terror. He doesnt have too many abilities that help him farm aside from his ult and Q, so mostly he'll be farming with autos, and poking the enemy champ with Q. Once he gets all three of his abilities he should figure out what type of lane he is going for, Poke, Duel/kill, or Zone. Then he should level up accordingly. I wanted to make Upgrading a difficult choice, sine the Mines are pretty powerful when upgraded, but if you upgrade them you lose out on a lot of damage from another ability.
Teamfights: So in a teamfight Mikais' goal is to hide behind Allies and deal TONS OF DAMAGE. Using his Q&W to poke down the enemies and finishing with the Ult for the cuop de' Gras. If any of those pesky enemies escape he should have cleverly placed Mines waiting to destroy them.
Ok since that was a Giant wall of Text, im gonna let it rest. Please respond with any tips, hints, or advice I'll be checking every so often, so please anythign helps. Also lemme know if this would be a champ you would play, and if not why (so i can learn).
Thanks for reading all of it (if you did) and i hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i did making it. Also sorry if my english is bad, sometimes auto-correct just doesn't cut it.
