I think the creators of League of Legends should have a black female champion there is a black male champion called Lucian so why not a female champion with a brown complexion? Her race is debatable. I say she is a black female due to her skin color/complexion and her accent. Both her traditional and current voice actresses is also black.
Besides, you said it yourself you wanted diversity so I stated Karma, which she fits the bill.

Sheesh, I can see someone likes to nitpick.
I'm aware their voice actors and actresses don't make the champion a specific race. Lux's voice actress is asian and that doesn't make Lux asian at all. Besides, the way how Lucian talks and the sound of his accent, the actor did a good job making Lucian sound like a legit black man. I should know, I'm a black man myself.
I'm just pointing out my view on Karma that she could well be the first black female champion we had all along based on appearances alone.
