[Concept] New game mode: Check your weapons at the door

I was thinking of a new game mode (permanent or temporary) and wanted others' opinions on it.

It could work on any map. Much like draft mode, there would be a ban phase but instead of banning champions players get to ban items. ** That infinity Edge on adc always screw you over? Gone! Rageblade too strong on Jax/Teemo/Xin? Gonezo! Zhonyas always ruining your kills? BEGONE...ZO! **

The only rule would be that you have to ban full items, you can't ban items that is part of a recipe. Meaning, you can ban the BoRK but not the vamp sceptre.

It's a silly name but you get the point. What do you guys think? Thoughts? Additional ideas?

----EDIT--- Additional Idea: What if the bans for the items took place after the champs were selected. That way we can tailor our item bans for specific champs. We see a Teemo on the other team and we can go "Alright Liandry's and Nashor's are out. Come on Teemo, show us how creative your build can be."
