Proposed Ahri rework

I am probably in the minority here but I personally would love to see a moderate revamp on Ahri's kit. Ahri is one of my fav champs (only outshined by Anivia albeit barely (another champ I hope gets reworked at some point to visually portray a more powerful vibe than she does now). In addition to updating/changing her model to show one single tail that either sprouts a new tail every other level OR gains all 9 tails once she ults, I would love to see the following implemented in game:

Passive: Remains as it is now???

Q: Ahri throws an orb but instead of it hitting on the way back as it returns to her, allow for the orb to be activated again and detonated in mid air creating a small AOE explosion (think Jayce's projectile)

W: Foxfire - remains how it is now however when the foxfires connect with a target they return to ahri and grant her some sort of mana refund. (This would function similarly to Essense theft but to keep this from being broken - perhaps make it only refund mana on unit/player kill?)

E: Charm is removed and instead she has Spirit Rush as her E. However, she only has access to one charge at a time instead of three, but can travel a larger distance than she can currently in game with a single dash. Ability resets on kill to allow her an escape after engage.

R: NEW ability: Ahri transforms into a ferocious 9 tailed fox, showing her true form, and is escapulated in an ethereal energy. Her abilities all gain additional properties. She gains lifesteal on her abilities but this form drains mana and perhaps even health at an immense rate. Can be toggled???

Anyways, this proposed rework would allow Ahri to retain some of her signature abilities such as orb and foxfire (the two coolest abilities imo)(excluding charm but that ability both visually and functionality wise is both outdated and limits her power budget and/or practicality in teamfights, not to mention, many consider it toxic). This is just a proposal and I would appreciate any input, be it positive or negative (provided it is constructive critiscism and not just bashing my ideas)

Thanks for looking! ^_^

But why? She's quite good as is, and her Charm is far from toxic. That aside, and I'm not bashing or anything, but this is unneeded. Her kit works well in the current Meta and to be honest, I have a very hard thinking of when she would ever fall out of viability. If Riot decides to rework her, it will be waaaay in the future considering there are other champions who need work more than she does.

I'm an avid Ahri player and I don't understand why she would need a rework. Ever heard the phrase you can't fix what's not broken? Even though she always remains strong there are very little complaints about her.

Your proposed rework changes so much about the core gameplay. This isn't a moderate change but rather a completely change Ahri's identity. Right now Ahri is a mage because of the simplicity and flexibility of her kit can become either a sustained mage or burst mage. By getting rid of Charm Ahri loses a TON of kill potential and outright loses her catch potential, charm a huge reason why Ahri is so strong. This would destroy the burst mage/assassin side of Ahri.

I'm not sure if I like R/E changes. Having a a single dash on her basic abilities makes her far less mobile in short engages, with her charm gone burst mage Ahri no longer works so she E Q W than what? She's kind of stuck in an awkward position. Also I fail to see how turning into a ferocious nine tail fox is Ahri, she wants to become human I don't know if this showcases that.

Overall I do not think Ahri needs a rework. To my knowledge she doesn't have any gamebreaking factors in her kit. Also I haven't met anyone who believes charm is toxic, heck even in threads ranting about ahri I find a lot of people defending her. Also there are MANY champions who need a rework before her, if Riot wants to touch Ahri it won't be anytime soon.

  1. She is fine as she is
  2. Her charm fits very well into her lore
  3. Her charm was her core gampeplay and still useful nowadays
