Wolf bb, can I see the score? I'll be able to help you more after that. Also can you be more specific at what times in the piece what you are looking for specifically in the transitions. I did read your comment about the celebration, assassination, etc. I felt that for a celebration at the beginning it was a little mellow for it to be a victory of winning a great war. Think about how all the soldiers would be drinking in celebration and singing songs loudly with each other. then didn't hear much of a transition into the part where Katarina was assassinating people. It didn't bring enough panic and fear into my mind which is what I personally think should be incorporated into it. Not just the dissonance and harshness of the chords, even though that is much needed and well done! Around 2.20 in the piece is where i believe it transitions into Katarina having her victory walk and the Demacians mourning. I felt this transition to be very very sudden. Went from high energy to not so much. This caught me by surprise and doesn't make sense to me musically. This would be a great place to have a little more of a transition as far as from the, FEAR PANIC CHAOS, to a somber melancholy feel to the deep rich bell tones of low brass with the horn and trumpet part overlying it as Katarina walks into the sunset (or sunrise depending on how you look at it) with her victory. This could be a wonderful time to have a niente to end with a very peaceful sound.
If you are not sure about what I am talking about for the transitions from an intense part to a softer part listen to this song. I played in in high school and loved it. I actually have it memorized and used it to warm up before my concert yesterday!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkWC-6EqLls
If you do not know the piece it is about a man trapped in a snow storm. It starts softly as the storm starts then picks up into a blizzard. Around the middle the guy is in the eye of the storm so it has calmed down again then he's back into the blizzard. It ends with the blizzard finally starting to die down until it has stopped.
These where just my thoughts on the song pm on me on curse if you have any questions and don't feel like posting on here :P <3
Forgot to add i put in a lot of things but it was still good!!! I know how much work it takes to write any song as I'm doing it right now for music theory xD.
