Szem - The Observer of Shadow Isles (Champion Concept) (Support)

Quick history about this concept: There is a Subreddit where people usually post Champion Concepts. Someone was requesting 2 champion concepts on that subreddit, one in which the theme was "Can be Everywhere" (create a champion that can be everywhere somehow) and another one that was "Vision is Key" (create a champion that uses vision to get some kind of advantage), someone already claimed those two requests when i saw them and only one person can work in one request at a time (According to the OP that posted those requests), but i decided to "craft" my idea anyway so instead of working only in one theme i decide to mix those two themes together (witch were the ones that i liked the most) to create this champion concept.

╔════════════╗ ║CHAMPION BASICS: ║📂 ╚════════════ ╝ Name: Szem - The Observer of Shadow Isles

(Curiosity: Szem sounds like "Sam" or "Zam" and means "eye" in Hungarian.)

Role: Support

Type: Tank

Resource: Mana Champion

╔═════════════╗ ║UNIQUE MECHANICS: ║🎮 ╚═════════════ ╝ He has a lot of unique mechanics, i like Lee Sin/Jax mechanic of using wards as a gap closer so i kept that in mind. He is a champion that can be everywhere somehow and has some intersting mechanics/combos that make him unique. My champion has a resonant theme, i imagine that he's satisfying to play, is skill-expressive, fair (needs work) and unique. ╔═════╗ ║ VISUAL:║🖌🖍✏️ ╚═════ ╝ i don't have a picture in my mind yet... You can help and give suggestions tho. (If you going to create some concept art before contacting me keep in mind that he is from Shadow Isles and that i want him to have something related to Thresh, i want him to have that type of "dark visual" too but, however, if you have a better idea forget about what i said and just do it!!! )

╔══════╗ ║ABILITIES ║⚡️ ╚══════ ╝

#Passives:

###Passive: ###Vision Plague: Szem wards are Plage Wards and have reduced sight, every enemy that passes thru their sight become Infected for 25 seconds (2+ seconds per lvl). During Infection all the wards placed by that infected target become Infected Wards and can be controlled by Szem.

Note: Plage Wards: Wards placed by Szem. Infected Wards: Wards placed by infected enemies that can't infect other enemies. (You can "control" infected wards and you and your allies know where they are placed on the map but you don't get vision from them.)

###Passive(2): ###Extra Eye: Szem spawns with an item that gives him an addicional of 3 special Plage Wards that can be placed close to every ally champion around the map, the duration of those Plage Wards on the ground is reduced the further they are placed away from him and they take X more seconds to be placed on the ground the further you want to place them. /// Note: I'm thinking about allow him to place ALL his wards close to his allies globally (SAME MECHANICS AS "EXTRA EYE", WARDS ONLY CAN BE PLACED IN A X RANGE FROM HIS ALLIES.). OR maybe add upgrades to his Extra Eye like viktor for example that give him extra wards and extra stats. (I'm thinking about his late game here.) Note 3: Somehow i can use it as a "nerf" if he turns out to be too strong, i can give him the ability to possess extra eye (upgradable) but only be able to build 5 items (Extra Eye can't be selled in this case))

###Passive(3): ###Charge Collector: Szem can cast special abilities on Plage/Infected Wards that are far away from him (X RANGE) those special abilities can't be casted on wards nearby and cost Vision Charges. Szem colects Vision Charges from "Collector" passives and for every ward destroyed. ( Normal Ward: 15 Vision Charges, Control Ward: 20 Vision Charges Farsight Ward: 10 Vision Charges Zombie Ward: 5 Vision Charges)

###Q: Vision Path: Szem can dash to his nearby Plage/Infected Wards (3 charges) (7 second cooldown per charge) if enemies are in the sight they are knocked up for 0.7 second. (His dash will be slow, a lil bit faster than maokai w, to give time to his enemies to react) (Szem only can use this ability again on the same ward after X seconds or if he travels to another one first)

Q: Passive:Collector Every enemy knocked up give Szem 5 Vision Charges.

###Q: Vision Charge Ability: Protected View: Szem shield all his allies inside the vision of one of his Plage/Infecterd Wards for 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+ 3% of his MAX HP) (for 2.4 seconds) (Cost: 30 Vision Charges) (25 second cooldown)

###W: Quick Pulse: Szem creates a energy pulse that can pull enemies a little bit towards the center of the ward or away from it slowing them for 15% for 1.5 seconds. (12 second cooldown)

W Passive:Collector: Every hit that those enemies take during slow duratiom give Szem 5 vision charge.

###W: Vision Charge Ability: Target Locked: Sven Stuns the enemies inside the sight of his Plage/Infected Ward for 1/1.3/1.6/1.9/2.2 seconds. (Cost 15 Vision Charges) (5 second cooldown)

###E: Nightmare!: Szem can use it on one of his nearby Plage/Infected wards, calling the darkness and making enemies inside that sigh lose vision of everything (Inside that sigh) for 1 second. (12 second cooldown)

E: Passive:Collector: Every hit that those enemies take during Nightmare! gives Szen 5 Vision Charges.

###E: Vision Charge Ability: Vision Portal: Szem can teleport himself to one of his Plague/Infected Wards (Cost: 100 Vision Charges) (12 second cooldown).

###R: Turn Off The Lights: Szem calls the darkness to all wards placed in the game for 6/8/10 seconds, all allies and enemies inside those ward sight are in total darkness and can't see anything (No monsters, No baron, No drake, only themselfs), only Szem can see everyone inside that sight and take advantage of that somehow. (Side node: Communication will be the key here) (200/180/150 seconds cooldown) If Szem damages a champion the darkness effect is lost and everything comes back to normal. (Needs to be casted on a nearby Plage/Infected Ward)

Interesting combos and plays you can do with this: In lane you can use it to blind your enemies (if they are in the sight of your wards or their wards) and your ally can roam or gank your lane without they even notice. Can be used as a disengage too (and that's very strong so i may increase the cooldown a lot). Can be used to contest objectives like Baron and Drakes and "scare" enemies in other lanes or help your jungler to gank those lanes without being seen by wards.

###R: Vision Charge Ability:Vision Trap: Szem traps enemies inside the sight of his Plage/Infected Wards for (7/10/13 seconds) enemies inside Vision Trap can't be damaged. An enemy ally can release them by placing a ward or farsight ward inside the trap. (100 Vision Charges) (150/120/100 second cooldown)

Interesting things you can do with this: If you find someone nearby your wards (far away) you can trap them (not sure about it yet but i think i need to add a limit of people that can be trapped tho) and then your team can engage 5v4 because enemy team can't awser that as 5, the target trapped can't do anything whitout help. Someone needs to release him, they can do it easly but if he's too far away they may need a farsight ward to do it otherwise they need to walk all the way too him and leave their team...

If i add no limite to people that can be trapped Szem can manage to catch 5 people inside his ward sight (I can imagine something like that happen in esports or even in a normal solo q game, that would be a "WOW" moment) and that means his team can take Nashor without worrying about iit being contested or take time to position themselves to engage as 5.

Note: I want this champion to be a Support, i didn't add damage to his abilities because i need to think about it, i think his potential is brutal and i'm not sure if add damage to that would be fair. Plus i think that a Tank/Utility Support like him doesn't necessarily need damage at all. ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░

#✍Edits/Notes✍ (I update this everytime i change something too keep you guys informed)

_Note 1: His wards have their sight range reduced but still enemies can't see the range area of his stun because they can't see the sight range... Maybe reducing the stun duration to balance that? Maybe a slow dash??? (Sounds good) Too bad i like fast things, but that seems to be the only solution here that works without reducing his stun duration :c _

Note 2: Is his "E" ability "Nightmare" way too strong? I somehow feel that is strong but i can't really know whitout testing.

Note 3: I reduce his Vision Path (Q) stun and i added ( Normal Ward: 15 Vision Charges, Control Ward: 20 Vision Charges Farsight Ward: 10 Vision Charges Zombie Ward: 5 Vision Charges) to his passive.

Note 4 (1/2): I really need to change the cost and cooldown of his "E" Vision Charge Ability: Vision Portal, way to strong. The reason why i don't did that earlier was because i wanted him to be able to go to a lane, help his ally and come back to his lane again. But at the same time he dooesn't need to do that because he can help allies from far away... right? So that needs to change. Note 4 (2/2): So far i didn't receive any feedback from Summoners, i don't really know why, not even a comment saying something bad or any criticism that could lead me in a way or make me change something... I'm starting to think that my champion concept isn't good enough to cativate summoners or maybe people don't really care about what a non-riot has in mind... i really don't want to but, sadly, I may leave this for now. Maybe one day i can become a rioter somehow or a Champion/Heroe Designer for another company and make something with some value that people care about... This concept is very well thought out, however, I feel like if it were to be implemented it would end up being similar to Ryze where it's Way to weak in Solo Queue but absolutely dominates the Pro Scene due to the ult, other than that, as a support player myself, I would love to see this concept come to fruition. It's interesting, i love it, a support who is reliant on wards, therefore encouraging them to ward, very good for beginning players. Though i feed it simply doesn't do that much damage, i mean, i know he is a support but still.

Why don't you try making his E into a split second Fear, instead of darkness. It seems more appropriate, especially regarding the name; "Nightmare."

Probably the most unique and interesting champion design I have ever seen. I really love the super unique and so far unexplored aspect of wards in a kit, and have never even remotely pondered such a concept. The abilities playing around vision is very interesting and make him support in a completely new way. My only concern is balancing him regarding the great variance in effectiveness across different levels of play. In pro play vision is of the utmost importance so having so much power over vision could make him into kalista v2. Additionally, the fact that he does no damage innately makes him much more geared towards pro play because utility is much more useful there than in solo queue. Furthermore, his global presence which requires and immense amount of map awareness to utilize seems far stronger in the hands of pros than in those of regular players. Finally, since his kit is so unique it would be difficult to pick up and would be confusing to new players or simply players who have not seen the champ. I personally have no problem with this final dilemma, but others might. In conclusion, I truly love your idea of a champion based entirely around vision and think that riot should seriously incorporate it into the game, however the abilities would have to be heavily monitored and balanced so that he is not super op in pro play while unplayable in solo queue, which I know (from my time playing kalista) is painful for everyone involved.

tldr; amazing concept of champ based on vision, but potential balance nightmare for pro play vs. solo queue
