Changed Border-Rewards to be awarded whenever you get into the Tier.

So to leave it short and simple, I believe that once you get into Platinum, Silver, Gold. You should be awarded that border instantly, and if you drop divisions, have the border change to reflect the division you're currently in. This provides incentive to keep yourself in the division as long as you want the border, and it eliminates the problem of people getting into plat 5 TODAY or at the very end of the season and then having to wait 5-6 months to get the border. Seems a little stupid. Thanks.

The idea is for the borders to be expressly an end-of-season reward to show your precious success for the next season. Rewarding them immediately doesn't really serve anywhere near the same goal, especially as, typically, the people you're playing ranked against have a good idea of where you are -- since they're probably close to that point as well.

So you could change this, but you don't really gain anything by doing so...and you also reduce the feeling of reward for playing through a season, since you can no longer secure that border for the entire following season.

I do get and like what you're saying; however, I believe it will be considered a larger and more coveted reward the way it is currently.
