Fanart: Crystalline Zyra Skin Idea

Update 12/23/16: Second draft and back views added below original draft!!!

This is a skin idea I started working on recently. Views of the back and skills in action will be added in later.

The inspiration was crystal though as I design it I'm not opposed to the thought of it being more along the lines of ice crystals specifically. I'm still trying to work out the specific skin identity as all I started with for what's shown is I wanted a cool color tone and crystals in it. I tried to derive inspiration from the original Zyra skin as far as keeping the original model in mind and the feeling of it being Zyra still while being different as well.

Just thought I'd share what I have of the sketch so far!

I could see this being a 1350 skin with an added voice line "What do you think Protector?" (Taric)

Wraither1 votes

1350 is what I was thinking about as I began to work on it, so more will definitely be added / tweaked/ changed but I figured for a first draft I'd post and get peoples opinions. Glad to see I'm hitting close to my mark! <3

I will be keeping tabs on this! Be amazing once its finished!

Are you gonna try and get it to be made with the custom skins teams that can be imported to league?

Wraither1 votes

I don't have any connections to them so I didn't plan to. I'm hoping that this becomes popular enough that someone at riot sees it an at least thinks "Hey, Zyra's popular right now and hasn't gotten a skin in years" so she's at least on the radar for a new good skin.

Lol don't even hope.

But I upvoted, whatever the chance Zyra gets a new skin is, I support it (no pun intended, I play her mid).

Be sure to spread the word about this then! I'll be adding more images in the coming days / weeks and the more popular it gets the better the chance she gets put on the radar is!

^ I'm a fan. Just thinking about how that ulti would look. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

You'll see when I update it with skills, though that may be a short while. I'll try to have an image of it first forming, when it's fully extended out, and when it shoots up for the knock up.

Is it just me or does her facial expression totally make her look like Jinx [slayer-jinx-catface]

Wraither1 votes

Imo the smile's not wide enough to be Jinx haha! Though it might jsut be my style since Jinx's face lends itself to an anime style more than Zyra's.

Yes please, Zyra needs some love right now. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/000/430/609/3d9.png

I know right? Hopefully if this gets popular enough they at least think about any new skin for her even if it's not this one or inspired by it.

IamBrew1 votes

I like the concept and zyra could use a good skin.

I think you Can do it now. Dont forget to say that Zyra really need some love.

Wraither1 votes

I'll give it a shot but she seems to be on vacation but that gives this time to be more popular at least. ^.^

Wraither2 votes

Just an update for ya! I tweeted it to her and caught her when she had some down time. She likes it, wants to be kept updated on it, and is encouraging me to keep growing it and even gave some idea suggestions, one of which I really liked. So it definitely is a helpful boost to help building and making the skin concept better.

Maybe in 20 years considering zyras current track record of receiving skins. Awesome skin concept though.

do you play runescape

Wraither1 votes

I do not.

Wonder when zyra will get a skin? Any bets?

No idea, we can only hope soon!
