Unbalanced Attention Concerning Champion Skins

What I hope to achieve through this discussion:

1. Show that there is an unbalance when it comes to skins and champions 2. Find out why this unbalance has happened and does happen 3. Get some champions some much needed attention and lessen the attention on others 4. Receive community and Riot feedback on the issue

It seems to me that some champions receive more love in the area of skins and visuals. The general trend is that the older a champion is, the more skins they have. It makes sense. More time = more skins. My concern is that some champions don't fit the trend.

Yorick (2011-06-22) with only 3, would love some new skins while Lee Sin (2011-04-01) and Graves (2011-10-19) with 7 and 6 skins respectively could use a break. Evelynn and Dr. Mundo have both been here since 2009 but one has 4 and one 8. These are just a couple of the examples of disproportionate champion attention in the graphics department.

Many other champs haven't received a new skin in quite a long time. Malzahar's last skin was September 2011. Ezreal has been given two since then and is about to receive another (Debonair Ezreal). This just goes to show that number of skins aren't the only issue.

Many summoners feel the same way about about this issue. Silverwinds posted a great thread titled: "@Riot: Malzahar Art Questions." I mention this thread because I'm partial to Malz but also to show that this problem is on other summoner's minds. The issue seems to be that everyone has mentioned specific champions instead of generalizing it and generating a meaningful discussion. By organizing this data and using champion examples across the board, I'm hoping to get some more attention on the subject.

Below is a current list of all Champions and the number of skins made that have been made available at various times for the champ (default skins are included in all counts). It should be correct as of 2014/07/29. A full Google Spreadsheets version that I threw together plus champion release date and table can be found here. (Let me know if any counts are wrong).
