Which champion will have the victorious skin this year?

It's not going to be thresh for sure, because he already has a championship skin But zyra or braum are possible, i think

wouldn't a victorious skin for brand look pretty similar to his arclight skin since most victorious skins have white and gold colors?

Hmmm... he hasn't gotten a skin in a while (last one was Arclight that came out in March). Doesn't have a championship, conqueror or prior victorious skin. The pro play isnt as big as rakan, braum, tahm kench or nautilus, but it's still entirely possible to go to brand. We'll see c:

I know you're joking but one of the requirements to get a Victorious skin is actually that the champion has a lot of skins, as due to the exclusive nature of the skins, they don't want a champion's only other skin to be something so exclusive.

It can't be ashe because ashe already has a championship skin Or varus, because he already has a conqueror skin Kalista is also off the list because she already has a championship skin, and she only has 3 skins, and 2 of them are legacy

And back when morgana was released, she was a midlaner. So it could easily also be a support that gets the victorious skin this year

Seeing as it can't be a mid laner again, an ADC would be the most likely pick. Adcs that have gotten skins this year: vayne, kai'sa, jinx, ezreal, caitlyn, mf (upcoming), jhin, lucian, tristana, sivir, xayah

Which leaves ashe, draven, twitch, kog, kalista, varus, and arguably yasuo

Of those, Draven and (less so) ashe have had the most impact in the meta this season. So my guess is victorious draven.

It can't be Ashe, Kalista, or Varus. They have championship related skins. Also, Varus recently got infernal.

What method or criteria do you use to choose which champion gets the victorious skin each year?

We start looking at options for the Victorious Skin in the Spring. Making any skin takes time, but the Victorious Skin is also teased one month before it’s released. With this in mind, we need to plan ahead for the Victorious skin, especially in comparison to a normal skin.

To begin, we take a look at champions that had a big competitive impact so far that year—this is largely based on Ranked and Pro play. Once we have some ideas for potential champions, we narrow down that list by eliminating champions who:

Already have a Victorious, Championship, or Conqueror skin. We wouldn’t do Conqueror and Victorious Karma in the same year, or Victorious Elise 2.0. Play the same role as a recent Victorious Skin. Since we had a top laner last season, we tried to avoid picking a top laner again this year. Have another skin coming out soon. We try to spread out skin content across our whole champion pool rather than drop a bunch of skins for one champ at the same time. Have a very small number of skins. Since the Victorious Skin can’t be attained by everyone, we don’t want that to feel like the only skin your favorite champ gets. Have a big balance change incoming. This is definitely the hardest criteria to figure out because balance can be fluid and we’re trying to predict the state of the game six months or so in advance.

Ashe got championship in 2017, Kalista got championship in 2015, Varus has a conqueror skin *(and recently got infernal),

Yasuo recently got Battle Boss, X Not Much Proplay Caitlyn got arcade w/ prestige, X Not Much Proplay Jhin got Dark Cosmic, (legendary) X Not Much Proplay Lucian got Demacia Vice, O Has Proplay Ezreal got Battle Academia (Legendary) O Has Proplay Trist got Little Demon X Not Much Proplay Sivir got Blood Moon X Not Much Proplay Kai'sa got arcade (also got prestige kda late last year) O Has Proplay Xayah just got Star Guardian (legendary) O Has Proplay

**dont know if these other skins will prevent them from them getting a victorious skin, but they've all recently got skins

The Adcs with the highest play rate in competitive play have been; Xayah, Kai'sa, Lucian & Ezreal (with Xayah in first place by FAR)

Some people were speculating that the Victorious Skin this year could be for a Support:

Karma has a Conqueror Skin, Alistar has a Conqueror Skin, Thresh got championship in season 2, Janna got Victorious in Season 2, Morgana got Victorious in Season 4

Rakan, Star Guardian (legendary), O Has Proplay Braum, Mafia Braum, O Has Proplay Tahm Kench Coin Emperor, O Has Proplay Pyke got Project: Pyke (legendary), O Has Proplay Sona, Odyssey, O Has Proplay Lulu Cosmic, O Has Proplay Taric, Pool Party (hasnt had a skin in awhile), O Has Proplay (sona-taric bot was pretty big before spring) Blitzcrank, Lancer, O Has Proplay Nautilus, worldbreaker, O has proplay Leona, Solar/Lunar Eclipse (legendary), O Has Proplay Bard, winter wonder, X Not Much Proplay Soraka winter wonder, X Not Much Proplay *Lux Battle Academia (with prestige), O Has Proplay (dont know if Lux would qualify as support or mid laner bc sup aftershock lux was REALLY popular this year) Nami is getting splendid staff, X Not Much Proplay *Yuumi, Battle Principal, O Has Proplay **she falls into the category of being popular, having proplay BUT not having "limited skins" since she only has her release skin. Wouldnt likely give the Victorious to her because its "limited" and the champion is fairly new.

Supports with the highest play rate in competitive play: Rakan, Braum, Nautilus, Tahm Kench, Galio, Leona If the victorious skin is going to a support it will most likely be between Rakan, Braum, Nautilus and Tommy Boy.

It's going to be interesting to see who gets it

*I know fiddle and voli have gotten played this year, but they're both getting reworks in the upcoming year and are not very likely to getting the skin
