Looting and Crafting

I think an essence conversion system should be created blue to orange or vice versa that way all those repeat alistar shards could be useful, as well as a better chance at saving for the higher priced skins costing 2950 orange to unlock and what if you next 3 chests only drop champion shards. whats everyones thoughts on this? seems like a fair system to me.
