Change Blood Moon Evelynn! Stop the Lazy Skins!

LuxTookTheKids··5 votes·3,153 views

I know I'm not alone when I say this, but Blood Moon Evelynn has to change! Its a lazy design and an eye sore for the Blood Moon line of skins. Evelynn mains and fans of the Blood Moon skins have been visualizing concepts for this skin for a long time and this is what Riot gives us? Voice your opinion, what needs to change to make this skin worthy of the Blood Moon title? (Copy/Paste Link into your Browser URL to see the Document) file:///C:/Users/Castr/OneDrive/Documents/Franciscan%20Papers/Blood%20Moon%20Evelynn.htm Originally this was meant for a ticket directly to Riot support, but I figured I post it here. Lemme know what you guys think? (FYI I know its full of typos and is a bit confusing but hopefully my points make sense)

I think that the skin is lovely and you are just over exaggerating. [katarina-love]

I'm sure there's a happy medium between those who like skin and those that don't. I'll admit the fan concept is a bit much, the best way to see constructive changes is to talk about what needs improvement AND whats good about it. But I stand by my word, the skin is a lazy design.

People will never be satisfied with skins.. all they want is over the top skins with alot of details. I think the skin looks amazing..

I'm not arguing for an over the top skin, in fact one plus side to the skin is its simplicity. But if you wanna talk about detail, we can talk about why she's wearing a salsa dancing dress in a traditional Asian inspired skin line or where are the ropes and gold accents like all the other BM skins have? I'm arguing for the same concept just done differently, more fitting for Evelynn's character, and more consistent with the BM title. Not everything I talked about I want to see changed and not all my ideas right, that would be over top. I just want to see a quality skin maybe for very unique champ.

I agree, I feel like with the changes to her hair and horns they should apply those same color changes to the rest of the skin. You're right, the reds aren't dark enough and on her tendrils the colors seem very faded even when not in demon shade. I'm with you on the invis though, that's the coolest part of the skin.

Here is Elise: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XESQRdiXlV0/VII30ihij6I/AAAAAAAAfBs/8e5-rrNO6oA/s1600/W.jpg

As you see, Blood Moon Elise also breaks from the traditional color scheme for a more pink hued appearance in her human form, the particles which also follow this color scheme.

LuxTookTheKids1 votes

That's definitely a good point and one I can't agree against. If they were to keep the pink hued both Blood Moon Elise and Evelynn would continue a unique color scheme of the skin line. Its hard to argue against using pink for an blood cult assassin themed skin line, because of one character, Mileena from the Mortal Kombat. Another bloody, throating ripping, metal clawed assassin....that wears pink! But still, you cant argue the Blood Moon skins have, for the majority of the characters, been mostly red. I dont know, pick your side![sg-zephyr]

The Blood Moon is based on Japanese myth and youkai. Not all of those demons and monsters are menacing at first glance, so it's understandable with characters like Elise and Evelynn that their human forms don't look as vicious - their most menacing aspect is their ability to blend in with mortals, and then pop out and consume them in their true forms, after all.

Furthermore, Evelynn's human outfit does use darker reds, it's in the trim of her dress. She's much more of a proper red than Elise even. Her purples and pinks only pop up in her particles and parts of her whips. Even her demon form uses truer reds, so she's hardly a problem and doesn't deviate much from the scheme as much as Elise did. Besides, it'd be utterly boring if all the characters looked the same. We need some diversity in appearance so the line doesn't get stale.

So in short: First Paragraph: The Blood Moon Theme vs Evelynn as a Character Second Paragraph: Traditional Blood Moon vs New Blood Moon

Pre-Release

LuxTookTheKids2 votes

I know its the pre-release, but that's why I'm talking about this as early as possible so we can hopefully see some change happen. The same thing happen with GGMF (lowered the price, improved model, more animations, better particle effects), Heart Seeker Rakan (they changed that hair a bit and added smoother colors to his abilites), Star Guardian Poppy (changed her particle effects from yellow to blue), and a few other skins. People said they didn't like thing about it, pointed out what it was, gave a possible change, and Riot responded. It will change, but will it change the way we would like to see it change?

Look they changed her hair from magenta to red, and made her horns gold with blue tips. Its minor change but its better than what it was before. Definitely a step in the right direction! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I feel comfortable now buying the skin in the state that its in, I dont wanna speak for everyone but I think its starting to reach that happy medium. There's still more I personally wanna see done, but for now I'm satisfied.

Here, someone did say something two days ago when the skin was first teased and had a Rioter respond (Follow the first comment conversation)

I kinda agree though, it seems like people have two conflicting opinions: 1.) The old version was better, but still doesn't feel like a blood moon skin 2.) We want change but you completely ignored what we asked for Riot

i have some love hate with this skin.

the death.. why doesnt she turn into her 'True form' on death?

what is up with the hip throw?? it never looked good on her in the first place and the new skin it looks even more so unnatural.. should be on the charm instead of the projectile or have her blow a kiss or something on the charm.

... Love the concept of true form in the darkness.. but play off that better.

Riot .. you need to get someone with better vision leading your skin team.

LuxTookTheKids1 votes

So true, it was very love hate for me too. As an Eve main I was excited for a new skin and really wanted to like it, but I couldn't.

Again, we have someone who believes our “complaining” is justified to a degree. He argues for and against Riots decisions both of which are very strong and understandable. He even refers to the problem with Sweet Heart Rakan like I had mentioned. Give it a watch, if anything he’s a great guy and makes amazing content.

Well she is suppose to be pretty in her humanish form"is she?"

LuxTookTheKids1 votes

Can't remember where, but somewhere during eve's development riot said if Miss Fortune was an 10/10 on a scale of hotness than Eve had to be an 11/10. Before the hair change, Eve was "cute" in human form which I a lot of people liked. However for a champion that's meant to be sexy and sinister, "cute" just doesn't cut it. I feel, like her other skins, she has to have that deceptively gorgeous look that's missing when you make her look "cute".[zombie-nunu-bummed]

Just asking but do you like how Eve stand? Cause I can't stand it lmao, I tried posing like her and oh gawd....Stretch your legs and bend it xD

Fair point XD but to be honest if you try running like any league champion you'll feel stupid 99% of the time (Zed, Quinn, Master Yi, Kai'Sa, Rakan, etc) I agree she has a very interesting stance, but then again keep in mind Eve had to learn what how to act human so whoever she learned to walk and stand from had some major back problems lol!

Now that what have the splash, has your opinion changed? The splash art adds a lot of details that aren't in the in-game models dress which I love (no unexpected) and the hair is a different again in the splash art. Now her hair is a light strawberry red which I think is the happy medium between the red hair and magenta. Another point, if a lot of people like the pink should they change her skin tone to be more human with a pink hue? Its another eve splash art with different skin tone from the in-game model.

Also there is another board where a Rioter did explain exactly what happened with the skin and why they can’t add sleeves, white hair, or delay the skin. If you know it please post it here! [poppy-wink]
