[Champion Concept] Sir Reginald, The Banker
Sir Reginald is the renowned owner of the Piltover national bank. Gold is his favorite color, gold is his favorite word, and gold is his favorite form of payment. Sir Reginald works with gold day in and day out, and when someone takes his gold he makes sure to get it back... with interest.
- "Piltover. It's the city of progress, the city of gears. You know what lubricates those gears though, don't you mister Heimerdinger?" "Ah well, yes! It's an assorted system of-" "No, mister Heimerdinger. Money. Money is what keeps these gears turning. Now if you'll sign here, we can begin the first step towards building this 'automaton' you keep rambling on about."
Age: 53 Years old. Weight: 216 lbs. Height: 5'7'' Occupation: Banker Visual Description: Sir Reginald wears fashionable attire, usually consisting of an under shirt, a vest, and a black coat with gold lining. He also wears a neat black top-hat, and a pair of crimson gloves. He is a white, stout male who has grayed mutton chops, and is in his mid fifties. Sir Reginald carries around a small firearm to keep him safe in the streets.
Passive: Pouch of Gold Sir Reginald carries around a pouch of gold with him, filled with a portion of his actual gold. This pouch is his resource pool, and can be refreshed by clicking or holding on the passive icon. Clicking once fills the pouch with 50 gold, and holding will fill it up rapidly until it is full. The base cap for his pouch is 500 gold, and every level Sir Reginald's pouch cap increases by 50, up to 1040 gold. Sir Reginald uses his actual shop funds to fill his pouch, and this must be done manually.
Additionally, Sir Reginald earns 15% more gold from all sources.
Q: Blood Money Sir Reginald fires a quick shot from his firearm in a line, dealing physical damage to the first target hit. If the target he hit has any stacks of "Invested" on them, that amount will be dealt as extra physical damage. If this does not kill the target, half of the stacks will be removed. (If there is only one stack, then the effect is dispelled entirely.) This ability does not cost anything.
W: Investment Toggled Skill
Sir Reginald may toggle this ability to start throwing coins at enemies as his basic attack, dealing increased physical damage, or toggle it off to stop the effect. This removes 1 gold from his pouch per basic attack, and applies a stack of "Invested" on a target. "Invested" targets display how much gold has been thrown at them to Sir Reginald, if he kills a target affected by this, he will receive the basic kill gold, plus two times the amount he invested into the target. (If you hit a target 10 times, and kill it with the tenth hit, you will receive 20 bonus gold.) The effect is permanent until a target dies, but will only pay out if Sir Reginald is the killer. (On assists of champion kills, the multiplier is 150%, instead of 200%)
Upgrading this skill increases the gold cost per coin tossed, and equally increases the gold earned from successful kills of "Invested" targets. First rank: 1 gold. Second rank: 3 gold. Third rank: 5 gold. Fourth rank: 7 gold. Fifth rank: 10 gold.
E: Pay to Win Sir Reginald pays a targeted allied or enemy minion to fight in his name. These minions will have increased damage and defense based on the rank of this skill, and enemy minions that are paid swap sides. Additionally, kills by these minions count toward Sir Reginald. Otherwise, these minions act no different from normal minions. (Paid minions will be painted gold, instead of red or blue)
Allied melee/range minions cost: 25 gold Enemy melee/range minion cost: 50 gold Allied cannon minion cost: 100 gold Enemy cannon minion cost: 200 gold
R: With Interest Sir Reginald throws all the gold in his pouch out towards his surroundings, dealing all of the gold thrown as true damage over the period of up to 5 seconds (based on how much gold was thrown). If an enemy who has a stack of "Invested" is damaged this way, those stacks are doubled. If this kills a target with "Invested" applied to them, then the amount that would have been from doubling the stacks will be what is payed out. (250 stacks on a target champion x 2 = 500 stacks and x2 from killing that target means 1000 gold is the payout.)
Sir Reginald is meant to be a rather squishy marksman, who focuses on stacking up Investment and killing targets affected by it to excel quicker than any other champion. If the player is not careful though, their investments may go down the drain with not a single gold earned for their effort.
In bottom laning phase, you'll want to fill up your pouch as much as you can, and start with Investment. Doing so allows Reginald to begin earning money quickly, or losing it at the same pace if he doesn't last hit minions he invests into.
He could also be used as a jungler as all his stacks are permanent onto a target (until it dies). So if you were to invest into a single jungle monster repeatedly entering and exiting the battle with it, you could stack up some quick cash. Though picking him as a jungler would probably get you counter jungled fairly easy since nearly nothing else in his kit is helpful in the jungle.
