My attempt at balance. Sett v10.3
This is something I did for fun, before 10.3 went live. I wanted to see if I could predict what changes were going to come to my favorite legend. I was off, but I'm curious to know your thoughts. Would love to hear from a League designer but all are welcome to give feedback.
Breakdown of Sett's W:
-
Range: 790 flat - CD: 16/14/12/10/8
- Physical Damage
- Center damage: 90/125/160/195/230 (+10% per 100 bonus atk dmg)(+25% of expended Grit in True Damage)
- Gains a decaying shield for 3 seconds = to Grit expended
- 100% post-mitigation damage as Grit (up to 50% max HP)
- Grit decay = 30%/sec after 4 seconds
- Cost = 100% of Grit
-
Current lvl 1 dmg = 165 (Max Grit, no items)
Possible nerfs:
- Base Health
- Base dmg
- W Center dmg
- Grit = up to 50% max hp
What do they want Sett to be? As a Melee Bruiser/Tank with little in his kit for mobility, and his R screaming to dive into the enemy team, it seems like the focus should be on tanking if they don’t want to change too much of his kit (i.e increase movement speed of Q, increase range of E).
- Reduce damage output and avoid reducing tankyness
New possible nerfs:
- Base dmg
- W Center dmg
o ~~90/125/160/195/230 ~~---> 70/110/150/190/230
o
25% expended grit---> 20% expended grit (maybe, but also perhaps less severe.) o 10% per 100 bonus atk dmg (no change)
I decided to nerf the earlier damage of Sett’s W since he currently can bully the majority of top laners. Forcing them to play safer and get less minion kills, until eventually Sett manages to get a kill – then snowball.
Nerfing the bonus damage from expended grit would be a much more significant nerf, so I feel more cautious with that one. Nerfing this stat would affect every phase of Sett’s game.
