Everytime you get S+ you get a key fragment.
I just want key fragments please. I seriously have 5 boxes with no keys. It is just too hard to get key fragments

Deep Terror Nami11 votesThe drop rate decreases each time you get a fragment, you're supposed to get an average of 12 fragments (4 keys) each month, and the rate resets each month. You will simply see all your keys and unlock the boxes you have when this resets for you.

Deep Terror Nami5 votesI recorded mine this reset; I received all 12 fragments in 5 days. Anyone that plays a couple games a day will easily have the average amount of keys every month, unless of course they don't win.

LA Losty3 votesIn 5 days?.... Last time i needed just 2 keyfragments i had to play 18 games for the first one and 22 for the second one. And as i was just spamming normals i had a 75% winrate in the 40 games i played. I was diamond 1 at the time and due to normal mmr being different i mostly faced platinum players, making it easy to win the majority of the games, this is also why OPs suggestion could be abuseable, im able to get S+ in like 1/3 games if i play champions im good at in normals.
RisenDarkKnight4 votesThis is actually incorrect information. The MAXIMUM you can get is 12 per month, not the average. The vast majority of players will not get 12 fragments a month because that can take a lot of games (especially since you can only earn fragments on wins). Sure plenty of players who play A LOT will get 12 key fragments a month, but most players won't and casual players definitely won't.

RisenDarkKnight4 votesYou're wrong, Riot has said several times that you are limited to 4 keys per month (unless you buy them). I don't want to spend too much time digging through posts from a year ago,
but in this post a rioter said "We purposefully set the key and chest limit the same, if you earn your free chests and keys and you're done - cool" in response to people talking about getting 4 chests per month.

You still have an MMR in norms, just no rank. So yes they would still be able to abuse it the way the other poster suggested.

It's literally just winning games. That's all. Resets every month based on when you first got loot. I tend to get 9 - 12 key fragments each month. I play a lot though. The first 3-6 key fragments are fairly easy to get with the first being with the first win after the reset.

Getting an S doesn't matter for key frags. Not at all. Just wins. Want to farm up some keys? Play a bunch of arams instead of games on the RIFT since they're shorter you can pack more in and potentially get more wins.

The drop rate isn't the issue. You don't play very often and have a match history that's mostly red. Play more and Win games and you'll get keys.
