Sami is a little boy who was very mischievous and adventurous. One day his misbehavior led him astray, and he uncovered a foul plague (somewhere), that he spread to the people around him before he had to be put down. However, his days of mischief were not over, as his restless spirit awoke again. He rose from his grave and proceeded to spread this terrible disease upon the land. (Ties to a horrible plague experiment gone wrong in Zaun and The Shadow Isles)

Sami is a small undead boy. He loves to taunt his prey with his creepy laughter while leading them to their demise. He carries a twig with him as his weapon of choice, and wields it as if it were a wand.

Sami is a maliciously evil little boy, that takes joy in the suffering of others around him.

  • All players will receive an audio cue when he casts this ability, but the location where he is appearing is only visible for 0.5 seconds before he appears.

Notes:

Don't chase the Sami.

The trail itself does not provide vision, but enemies on the trail will receive the 'Revealed' debuff, and hear Sami's laughter in their ears from time to time. The longer they stay on the trail, the more frequent his laughing becomes, while their MR continues to decrease from his Path of Damnation. The trail is only as wide as his hitbox, so it should be easy to avoid if Sami doesn't utilize some clever pathing. The trail both provides vision for him, but also gives away his position as he moves about the map, whether he's jungling or roaming.

You will know that you are standing in his trail even when it is not visible to you by seeing the "revealed" debuff above your head, and hearing Sami's laughter.

Playing as Sami:

As a mid laner your goal is to shove lane with your E, and make a quick sneaky roam before your enemy laner catches on to your trail and alerts his allies.

As a jungler you need to be very aware of where you have placed your Trail of Rot as it will give away your position... Or you can go on the aggressive and lock off entire paths through your enemy's jungle while counter jungling. Remember to kite the Jungle Monsters through your passive for your Q CD and Mana refund, and to reduce their MR post level 6.

When ganking attempt to cut off the enemy with your trail, and time your Q or W-Q as they walk across it for the CD and Mana refund on your Q.

As a support, landing the W on both enemies is crucial for comboing with your Q, setting up your ADC and Jungler, and also healing your ADC when they are affected by your E. Don't forget that locking your enemies down makes them easy pickings for Plagued minions to beat on as well. However landing your W requires you to be in very close range which can be dangerous, so play to your enemy's strengths and weaknesses.

Playing against Sami:

Chasing Sami is not going to be easy. Assuming you follow him on his Trail of Rot, he will be able to assault you with a hail of Q's while kiting you, in addition to being able to line up an easy W. Try to avoid staying on the Trail while chasing him by running parallel to it. If he wants to cut you off with the trail, you will begin gaining distance on him.

Sami can shove lane pretty well by buffing the wave, or counter an all-in if he predicts it ahead of time, by buffing the wave and having them target you. You can stop him from doing this by killing the minion affected by Plague before it spreads to the other minions.

In the support role, watch out for Sami's E cooldown, as when he casts it on his ADC he will be able to heal them for a decent amount when landing a Q on one of you. Even more if he gets a W-Q combo on both of you.

When Sami is in the jungle, keep an eye out for his trail, and try not to stand in it. By doing this you will be able to alert your team to his position while not giving away yours.
