Darth Veigar

Hi guys,

First of all: I know a discussion about Darth Veigar already exists on various boards, but I really want Riot to do this and I am sure they will if this is supported or at least wanted by some people.

I added some ideas to the main idea of Darth Veigar like for example:

The wand could be transformed into a red lightsaber, you could add sporadic "Darth Vader breaths" and special Interactions with "Chosen Master Yi". E.g. if a Chosen Yi and a Darth Veigar are close and both dance, they will perform a lightsword fight or something like that.

Additionally, the skin could be released while the upcoming Star Wars VII premiere as a cooperation between Lucasarts and Riot.

There will be copyright issues and money issues (as to who gets the money of skin purchases), but I think this is very doable and indeed an awesome skin.

Pls Don't go hard on me as this is my first post on the LoL boards and I haven't aquired some knowledge yet.

I personally haven't seen the other posts for Darth Veigar. It sounds funny, to be sure, and definitely makes sense for the character. I definitely think you mentioned the main issue of copyrighting. I'm not specifically sure how Riot dealt with this issue with Chosen Master Yi, but I'm sure they could do it again for Veigar, which would probably involve using a name other than 'Darth Veigar' while still paying homage to Star Wars. The word 'Darth' is a made up word and has no literal definition. It's been theorized that it is meant to sound like the word 'dark' and 'Vader' is Dutch for 'Father' , Dark Father. This makes sense as Vader is the evil father of Luke, the chosen one. Dark Veigar could work, but in my opinion this is a little boring.

I have the Chosen Yi skin, and I personally think it is awesome, especially how his light saber changes color. This wouldn't really work with Dark Veigar because the Sith pretty much always have red light sabers.

I definitely think there would be some potential for some secret interactions, or at least just some cool taunts. First of all Veigar has a very great 'evil' laugh. Adding a synthesizer to his laugh would be great. The occasional 'Vader breathing' would be cool too, BUT I am thinking as a vocalization when given a move command. I can also hear Veigar saying "I am your father!" "Join me, or DIE!" "I find your lack of faith disturbing"

As for interactions with Yi specifically. "Wuju has taught you well" or "The force is strong with this one" I don't know of any dance interactions that change when near specific targets or targets with specific skins, much less ones that cause them to physically interact with each other. While the light saber battle would be the coolest thing ever, I don't think it would work. Sad day.

Now, Veigar's abilities could be changed as well. His Q could be a Force Push or 'Force Bolt.'His E could be a ring of Force Lightning. I can't really think of a specific shape for his W or R but I'm sure Riot could think of something cool.

Again, I definitely think this idea has potential, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, skins are generally not an issue with modeling. I actually do work with 3D modeling quite a bit and for the most part a champion skin is like taping a picture to the side of a box. There is obviously more to it, but the base model of a champion would typically be minimally changed during the creation of a skin. In my opinion voice overs and particle effects are what would really give a skin like this a good boost in quality, otherwise you're just turning Veigar into a Darth Vader Chibi.
