Dai-go, the Red Lotus (Champion Concent)

I've been a mid to long time Lurker in this place and honestly got so intrigued with all the work people give that I wanted to contribute something myself once and decided to give it a shot and see how well I fare :3

#CHAMPION LOOKS:

I wanted to really have this Dynasty-esque approach for my character. A warrior who really gives this idea that he looks very elegant and flashy, but gives this sort of Frail impression that makes his enemies underestimate him. A mistake he will abuse to his fullest to strike them down with merciless swiftness and Grace.

#CHAMPION LORE AND THEME:

Lore:

  • Dai-Go is a young warrior of Ionia who attended to a life of the Blade, to master the art of the Lotus, one of many forms which utilizes a single Sword to the fullest of it's potential. However, the Lotus exercises tremendous restraint, something Dai-Go was not a big fan of. His belief of the Lotus being flawed was solidified when his school did nothing to help drive back the Noxian invaders. Almost the exact moment in which the war ended and Noxus Retreated, Dai-go abandoned his school and took with him only his blade and his clothes. Traversing Ionia, he sought to change and improve the Lotus, one of Ionia's Oldest and most Fundamental forms, one essential to it's very Foundation, to his design. To reshape it's style to serve a purpose beyond self-discovery and Discipline. A Purpose to protect Ionia and keep it safe by being able to rain mayhem upon his enemies and slaughter them. One such occasion lead to him massacring some deserting Noxian Refugees who were in hiding, painting an entire town metaphorically and himself literally red in the blood of his victims. Thus, tainted by the thirst for blood as a means to an end to keep his home safe, Dai-Go was given the name "Red Lotus" by Ionian citizens, becoming more feared than he was celebrated.

Theme:

  • As lightly addressed with the Looks, and further solidified with the Lore, Dai-Go is a champion who is very light on his feet. He moves and strikes very quickly and makes a very flashy show of himself in the process, dancing around not just his enemies, but around their surroundings as well, to turn the very entirety of the area against them regardless of their positioning. He will be a Jungler-Assassin who specializes in being REALLY FAST and can get from one end to another in record speed while demonstrating equal speed in battle. I just hope people will be able to see past the number of Dashes to enjoy everything else.

  • Dai-Go leaps towards the target Location and gains a 13 / 16 / 19 / 22 / 25% Movement speed Bonus for the next 2 seconds. If he leaps towards a Wall, he will reset this Ability's cooldown and walk ontop of it. While ontop of a Wall, Dai-go has double Energy Regeneration and his next normal Attack against enemies will be a Leap. While on a Wall, Dai-Go cannot leave that wall until he either Leaps, uses an Ability or is Crowd-Controlled by enemy Champions. Additionally, if this Ability is used consecutively within 1.5 seconds, follow-up casts will have a 25% reduced Energy Cost.

##W ABILITY: Blooming Leaf Cooldown: 8 Seconds Costs: 40 Energy Cast Range: 250 Units Hitbox: 80 Units

  • Active: Dai-Go's next Attack against an enemy Champion or Large/Epic Monster will cause him to Dash behind them and deal a total of (80% Total AD) + 9 / 12 / 15 / 18 / 21 (+25% Bonus AD) per Lotus Leaf to all enemies in a short line. Afterwards, the Lotus Leafs will be consumed.

##E ABILITY: Light as a Feather Cooldown: 15 Seconds Costs: 80 / 70 / 60 / 50 / 40 Energy Cast Range: 400 Units Leap/Dash-through + Damage Range: 250 Units Hitbox: 75 Units

  • Dai-Go dashes into the target enemy then leaps right Through them a short distance in the same Direction, dealing 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+60% Bonus AD) Physical damage to all enemies hit in his path. If at least one enemy Champion was damaged, the Energy Cost is refunded and he can Re-cast this Ability within 4 seconds, after a 2 second Delay, to deal 50% reduced Damage. The Cooldown of this Ability will begin after the last Cast.

##ULTIMATE ABILITY: Bloody Red Lotus Cooldown: 160 / 140 / 120 Seconds Costs: 100 Energy Area of Effect Range (Radius): 400 Units Center Area of Effect Range (Radius): 150 Units

  • Dai-Go leaps high up and dances ontop of Air Itself, becoming Untargetablle for the next 2 Seconds. In that time, he is still able to move. After 2 seconds, he will leap down ontop of all his opponents within Range, dealing 100 / 140 / 180 (+60% Bonus AD) to all enemies hit and slowing them for 60% for the next 2.5 seconds. Enemies in the Center take double damage and are Stunned for 1.5 seconds instead. For each enemy Champion damaged by this Ability, Dai-Go will place a Lotus Flower on their position where they were hit. Picking a Flower up will reset the Cooldown of "Blooming Leaf" immediately, grant 5 Lotus leafs and reduce the Energy cost of it's next cast by half.

So, how did I do? Please try not to be too harsh to me, this is my first time :(

Took me some time to get to this, mainly because I did take a break from the whole C&C thing for a non-discloseable reason.

Now, I like this kit. It seems fair and REALLY fun to play, it is Not that difficult to pick up at first with some strong scaling here and there and has an AMAZING learning curve to master.

That said, there is one thing that absolutely bothers me.

His W damage is WAY too high.

Assuming he is level 9, maxed his W first and build only IE as his first item he will be at roughly 200 AD. Let's round up and say he's at exactly 200 AD.

With 200 AD, at 5 Lotus Leafs, his W will, if it crits, deal fucking 1213 damage. That is higher than most ADC's health bar at level 9 and even higher than some champion's health bar up to level 12 (That is assuming no health items at all were bought). That is ONE item out of 5 (or 6 since this guy has so much mobility with his Q that he could very well be played without any boots). I estimate that by the 5th (or 6th) item he builds he can deal very well over 2k if not even 2.5k crits. That is on ONE hit. And with his ult, he can reset it up to 5 times. That is SO MUCH damage for someone who can literally spam the ever living fuck out of this Ability. His W damage needs to be toned WAY down.

I suggest reducing the Total AD scaling to the 100% he would deal and reduce his per-leaf damage by half, both base and scale.

That said, he is a very amazing concept at sight and I would definetly see this being a majorly fun experience.

However, with how quick he can move around the map with his Q and E as well as with how much he can hop between walls and enemies to basically dash circles around the circles he dashed around them is gonna be very frustrating for the enemy. A champion who rewards being mastered humongously. But yeah, for someone who has so many resets and combos, he currently offers way too much damage and he could already 1v5 pentakill at one item if he even remotely snowballs, which in turn will make him snowball even more.
