About game modes

I have a question about game modes You know how there are game modes like: Hexakill, URF, Doom bots, Legend of the poro king, One for all, Ascension, and possibly more. I don't quite get why those are of limited availability. Everyone seems to love it and even on PBE, the server is flooded with people when URF is released. However, being honest, couldn't this be more customizable by the players. For example, you may not have to put this available for normal games, but you could always put it in custom games. What may have been done was to put something like boxes in which you can tick or un-tick, each box representing a game mode. Then, players could open up a custom game and mix the modes to their liking. It could be a hexakill URF or one for all urf, or even something like hexakill-URF-Doombots-one for all. I think that players can also come up with various ideas, like how people used to play hide and seek in the dominion map and dodgeball in the baron pit, and who knows how much they can create?

The reasoning Riot's given is that those game modes don't have the depth and longevity to sustain permanent queues. Furthermore, in the off-chance they do manage to sustain queue populations, Riot admits they do a terrible job supporting the game mode (like with Dominion, Treeline, ARAM). As such, they don't want to add more permanent queues because they want to focus on SR.

As for being options in custom games, that also has costs. Each additional game mode means that much more bug testing required to make sure nothing crashes. This increases significantly if you start mixing game modes, as every possible combination has to be tested for bugs.

Whether or not those reasons are credible or reasonable is a different discussion, but that's how Riot's justified it.
