Does Skin Affect Gameplay? Whenever me and my friends play Aram and someone in the other team buys skin for the team I feel like Oh well we tried -.- But Does it actually effect how we play? I feel like when Im playing aginst people with skins they are stronger despite them being same level as me... And if it doesn't effect anything why would people waste money on it?

People usually buy skins for their mains. Therefore, they tend to be good at the champions they have skins for. The idea that they buff your champion is ridiculous. While I like most of this Youtuber's videos, this one is pretty absurd.

In ARAM, buying skins for the team only gives you an IP bonus, whether you win or lose. I guess it usually motivates people to really win to not let the bonus go to waste and get as much out of it as possible. And since ARAM is random, people don't usually end up on their mains anyways. Whenever someone on my team buys us the skin bonus, it feels pretty nice and I usually want to try my best for them idk. But in general, skins don't give champions buffs of any kind-- that's kind of ridiculous-- they just make your champion look different.

Do* ?

And as for skins affecting gameplay, most of it is morale, but there are a small percentage of skins that have a slight/marginal advantage vs others due to size and what not, but that's disputable, and the "advantages" themselves aren't anything I'd consider game changing.

There is one area where the videos don't talk about. I read an article about a year ago that talked about how the color of the skin can provide an advantage in game. Skins that more closely match the terrain make the champion harder to see, and therefore harder to target and less likely to be targeted. Skins that highly contrast with the terrain have the opposite effect and make you easier AND more likely to be targeted by the enemy in fights. Once again, the effect was maybe only a 1% increase or decrease in winrate, but every little bit helps.

Would Snow Day Malzahar fall under category 6 since the audio on his Malefic Visions can be used to tell when it's about to run out?
