"Saves" stat for supports

How many times a teammate is bout to die and you save them with heals/ shields/ swallowing whole/ etc., but adds nothing to your overall score? Saves should = assist in terms of gold and kda.

Currently the reward is "ty raka" or "nj Tahm" and maybe an honor at the end of the match. But if a dude's about to die and your heal gets him/her/it away alive - this is a major play - saves a death, takes a k from the other team. Now if this happens multiple times in a match, that could really add up in terms of gold/ kda.

Maybe not even it on your kda - but if you're tracking CC score, may as well track saves, right?

I know, saving teammates is your job as a support. It'd be like if you gave Zed a K for every time he... gets a kill I guess?

I... Strongly disagree. The reward is the gold you denied the enemy for their efforts.

Pretty much what Terozu said. The direct reward is the enemy not getting the gold. Though it could be in-game purely for statistics with no direct affect.

Only thing I'd say is that teams need to recognize them a little more. If I flash shield/heal you to save your life, y'all better show a little appreciation.

I wouldn't be sure how this would be implemented in the game. Tracking CC score is easy due to the fact that CC isn't hard to track. If you were to track "saves" how would you even try to track it?

The reward for good play is eventually winning the game.
