Can a Rioter answer this?

Hey guys,

ok, so I am quite a lot into warmachines and games with them, so when I came across the splashart of Aviator Irelia, I couldnt stop myself from trying to figure out which planes are depicted there:

https://lolstatic-a.akamaihd.net/frontpage/apps/prod/rg-irelia-reveal/en_PL/abd275e634ae15e22975cdeb5d03b65df6b65180/assets/downloads/wallpapers/aviator-1920x1200.jpg

The ones in the sky I figured must be either Consolidated B-24 Liberators or Avro Lancasters, tho after consulting people in the WarThunder forums, a game I play A LOT, my bet now is on the Lancaster given the higher angle in the rearside of the wings.

Now the plane Irelia actually sits on is more difficult. The engine is suspended underwing which implies the plane is multi-engined. Given the outfit and identification of the planes in the sky it has to be an US or UK fabricate. The engine cowling however looks like it is from a Bf109F to K, or from a Me410. It can't be a B-24 because these used radial engines while the engine cowling on this plane suggests it is an inline engine. This would point to the Lancaster again, however the propeller hub of the actual Lancaster is not that pointy and doesn't have these intakes or vents.

Is that the point where creative freedom took over historical accuracy or is there a plane I am missing?

Kind regards,

Stahlvormund
