Create new elderwood skins and use part of the money collected to plant trees, this would be a noble initiative. It's not much but the planet will be happy.

The dedicated fan base that are getting annoyed at Riot for Little Legends, skins going to popular champions whilst others have gone years without a skin and most recently their 'eternals' and they're the ones that would also see the good in Riot donating money to charity.

corporations produce 70% of carbon emissions. The bolsonaro government has made it legal for farmers to burn down large swaths of the amazon rain forest for their cattle to graze. Amazon produces a lof of oxygen (therefore it also absorbs a lot of carbon).

ur exaggerating, but ABSOLUTELY. There are plenty of jobs that will be created by green energy initiatives, not to mention that infrastructure spending will result in new jobs 100% of the time, and they can't be outsourced. If we can save our planet by cutting millions of existing jobs, and replacing them with infrastructure or green energy jobs, that's a pretty good compromise. Maybe giving people financial stability through government programs would be necessary in order to make the swap easier, but sitting here idly and hand wringing over lost jobs while we are living in a pressure cooker is unhelpful and irresponsible.
And its cool that Ethiopia is planting trees, but that shows that only through government intervention can we solve this problem. We need a massive change on a global level to curb carbon emissions and the only way we are gonna do that is by switching to green energy.

Doing this by force through the government, will make life miserable. Then you rely on the government. You will have less freedom. ... japans national debt is 3x their gdp but they are fine. This Austrian model of monetary theory has been proven false time and time again so this debt fear thing is overblown. Dude, I don't know if you understand this or not, but almost every big innovation in recent history was invested in by the government. Silicon valley is a good example of this. The green new deal wasn't even a policy, it was a resolution that congress would start investigating different ways they could pass legislation to reduce carbon emissions and invest in green energies. Lead wallpaper? government fixed that. FDA preventing companies from putting harmful contents into food and other products, government did that. Government is an important part of life and instead of trying to kick it out of our lives we should be utilizing it to make positive change. I live in a place where the government provides water and electricity, and we pay SIGNIFICANTLY less for both of those things than if we were to go through a private corporation. Whats so bad about the government installing solar panels on houses lol? the increase in taxes necessary is cheaper than installing them yourself. Also, the government has complete control over law enforcement in our country, does that mean the police is communist? or how about fire stations, is the fire department communist? or how about any government agency without a private equivalent, is that communist? idk communism they way you are describing it seems pretty decent. Government agencies are usually non-profit so all of their income is dedicated to purely service, and wages, without the profit motive they tend to provide better service at a lower cost, just like how municipal isps are always better than comcast, charter, time warner, verizon etc.
Oh, a lot of these changes can be done if we tax the rich more. corporations in America don't pay taxes in America a lot of the time. Perhaps we go back to the regan era where we had a 90% marginal tax rate, that should be able to pay for a big part of it. Not to mention that the government can issue out bonds for extra money, then pay it back with interest at a later date. LIke i said, japans debt is 3x more than their gdp, and they have had no repercussions whatsoever.

Ok, well idk where tf you live but I'm not sure you have ever had to pick between a public utility and a private corporation. All I have to do is point to municipal broadband vs private corporation. Private health insurance vs public options offered by both the government and my state government. Yeah, public non-profits are definitely different that private corporations, that's why I think they are better at providing certain services that private corporations fail to deliver on (internet, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, water and electricity).
Ur talk about taxes is kind of cringe, I feel like you just looked up corporate tax rates without understanding why they are such a big deal. The big problem with them is that many corporations pay 0$ because they move certain assets of their company into countries with a 0% tax rate. This means they are basing their companies in the US, but they aren't paying anything in taxes. Usually they set up parts of their company in the Caribbean, Ireland, or the Netherlands, and put their manufacturing plants in Singapore, Vietnam or other eastern countries. This results in cheaper manufacturing, and thus cheaper prices usually but that is a completely different conversation and I don't think that cheaper prices is a justification to let them get away with paying 0$ in taxes. I don't care that they pay into charity, I think that taxes are more important, and through government more effective social programs can fill the role of charity.
Ur wrong about lowering the corporate tax rate, the government took in even less in revenue (thus increasing this debt thing you care so much about) and most of the profits went directly to stock buybacks. Not R and D, not raising wages, not innovation, just to paying back investors. Small increases to the minimum wage keep prices where they are, meaning that there is some wage inefficiency within the market, meaning that employers aren't paying their employees a proper wage. Now in sates like Wisconsin where the minimum wage is 7.25, maybe 15 is too high to jump to initially, a better plan would be to raise it to 15 over a number of years but I don't think you are ready to have that kind of conversation. The rich will leave is such a dead argument. Did they leave during the Regan era where we had a marginal tax rate of 90%? no they didn't, they stayed in america. The amazon rain forest is responsible for producing an immense amount of oxygen and in-taking a massive amount of carbon, the right wing Brazilian government has allowed farmers to burn the thing to the ground, thereby exacerbating climate change. rollbacks on environmental regulations, subsidies to gas and oil companies, electing a climate change denier as the leader of the free world, yeah there are a lot of right wing changes being made and its really screwing the world over in the long term. That climeworks company is aiming to curb just 1% of climate emissions so gj I guess? idk doesn't seem like private enterprise is fixing the issue so maybe we can't just ignore it and pretend its not happening. also, roughly 25% of its funding is from the Swiss government so its not like private corporations are spearheading fighting climate change alone lol, the only way a crisis like this will be combated is through massive government intervention on a worldwide scale. sex is biologically determined by a combination of different factors, gender is how we perceive ourselves through sex. Gender is often put into a context of societal expectations of male and female so it can mean very different things depending on which culture or society is in context.
From what I understand gender is bimodal with most people identifying as male and female, but there are people who exhibit a preference for characteristics of the opposite gender of their sex resulting in them occupying somewhere in between male and female.
Regardless of ones gender identity its important to teat people equally so this whole conversation doesn't even matter, I love the pivot though, you have nothing to say about ANYTHING when it comes to climate change so you change topics to something you remember all the talking points to xd. The planet is a rock. The planet does not care. The planet will continue to exist even when every living thing on it dies, and when it does eventually get destroyed by the sun, the atoms will still exist in some form or another.

Joking aside, I actually like this idea, but instead of just planting any trees, I would rather they plant public fruit trees in parks around the country. That way, they're also feeding the hungry children of future generations and producing more human happiness. It could be more complicated to organize an event like that though. They could just offer the funds to cities if they agree to use them to immediately use them for that purpose and to provide Riot a count of trees planted with the money and a picture of at least one newly planted fruit tree.
