Im just wondering if a new black champion will be made soon or not (im black n i like it when black skin champs are made cuz i feel like i can relate to them) i would really enjoy it if it was a fighter champ with a skill cap like lee sin :DD
Well, uh...
Taliyah just came out, and she's Shuriman (which is basically League Egyptian with some elements of Arabian thrown in). Egyptian people are African, ergo, she's under that umbrella. Sure, she's not hella dark, but she's definitely not white. She also has a super-high skill ceiling and is all-around a great girl.
Illaoi is less new, but she's way darker and is basically Polynesian if we consider her islander origin as a one-to-one parallel. Has a semi-high skill ceiling and a really cool voice and lore.
Ekko has a super high skill ceiling (and is super annoying to play against), and is as black as the day is long. He's also really super cute and I love him.
There's also "Black Classic" characters Karma and Lucian.
Or you could be like me and just bypass race altogether by playing Bard, Aurelion Sol, Kindred, and Ivern. They're great fun and don't care for our petty human concepts of 'race'.
Why do you need a champion to look like you to relate? I mean I literally look nothing like Kat. Hell she's a redhead and Im a weird coloured head depending on the light... But still and I can "Relate" to her, more than I can to anyone else... cough (i'm a nice person, I dont stab people for fun... okay? (just some times))
The problem with having a black champions is that the continent of Valoran doesn't have any environment where having black skin would be adventitious.
Have dark skin on Valoran is very rare, as there are no native environments that promote the need for very dark skin. The best bet for having a new black champions is to further expand Runeterra, and introduce new landmasses that have plains, to mirror our world's Africa.
Of course I am just looking at this through a biologist's point of view.
Lol how about if riot released multiracial skins instead, maybe including even more races than just blacks?
Your skin color matters too much to you. Lol the I relate to champs is how they play...not how they look.
