[Champion Concept] Glutton, The Soul Eater (Hyper Tank)

Tanks are in a really unloved position in the league right now. They're being completely shred by Armour Pen items and abilities, percentage of health damage, and true damage, and there's nothing really buffing them to viability. So if we're not gonna make the old tanks viable, let's make a new tank. Not a Blade of the Ruined King, Ravenous Hydra buying bruiser. That's not a real tank, let's make Glutton!

Lore: Many many years ago, during the rule of Reginald Ashram, a incident occurred in Valoran that remained hidden from the public, a secret mission to invade a small isolated village in Ionia in search of rumoured dark power. Ashram had heard of a crystal, that would take over people and imbue them with deadly strength. He sent his soldiers to obtain this crystal and therefore removing this threat from the world. Sadly... The soldiers were young, and decided to drink, and in their drunken state, they used relentless force to capture the crystal, slaughtering families. They set their sights on a young boy, wearing a raggedy brown cloak, and all of the villagers protected him with their life. Being unable to find the crystal, they decided to capture the boy instead and interrogate him. They chained him, fed him, and then used torture as well as enticement, but the boy did not speak. Eventually, they stopped feeding him, leaving him to die. A few days later, a young soldier tried to help the boy escape, and not understanding the situation, the boy bit the soldier out of fear, and this bite tore his arm clean off. After getting a taste of human flesh, his starvation got the best of him and the boy ate him alive, with his crystal teeth. The league tried to kill Glutton, but they were unable to pierce his thick skin, and he devoured anyone that tried to hurt him. Eventually, Glutton broke free, roaming Valoran for prey, and he considers champions a delicacy.

Visual Description:

  • Short
  • Stubby
  • Big Belly
  • Short hair
  • Pure white eyes, no pupils
  • Pink Crystal teeth
  • Abnormally thick arms
  • Blue T-Shirt and Grey Shorts

Gameplay: Glutton is a late game hyper tank. He scales up by farming. Killing minions boosts his HP. His lane phase consists mostly of surviving and farming, and in the late game he becomes an extremely strong team fighter, sticking on to AD carries, and punishing them for attacking him.

Abilities:

Passive: Snacking Whenever Glutton kills a minion or large monster, he permanently gains bonus HP. (2 for a minion, 5 for a large monster.)

Q: Devour (Single Target, 600 range) (8 second cooldown) Active: Glutton jumps towards the target, knocking aside enemy champions in his path, and taking a bite out of the targeted champion, dealing percentage of missing health damage, as well as slowing them for 1 second by 15/25/35/45/55%.

Passive: Consecutive auto attacks on the same target cause the target to bleed for a small amount of damage.

W: Inhale-A-Lation (Cone, 400 range) (14 second cooldown) Active: Glutton inhales for 2 seconds (channel), drawing all enemies closer to him. At the end of this channel, Glutton exhales, Knocking back and stunning all enemy champions infront of him for 1 second.

E: Thick Skin (20 second cooldown) (Single target) Passive: Melee Basic Attacks deal 7/9/11/13/15 % reduced damage to Glutton.

Passive: Ranged Basic Attacks deflect 2/4/6/8/10 % of damage back to the champion.

Active: Knocks up target champion for 1 second.

R: Savagery (150 second cooldown Rank 1) Passive: Basic attacks against Glutton slow champions by 10%.

Active: Glutton gains 50% movement speed for 5 seconds, decays over time. For the next 10 seconds, Glutton is unaffected by Armor penetration, displacement and knockups. He also gains 30% tenacity for the next 10 seconds. Any critical strikes to Glutton during Savagery deal 75% damage.

I don't really know if this kit is any good, I just want a solid tank in the game, and I thought eliminating armor pen sounded like a strong champion. Tell me what you think.

As much as I want tanks to be tanks this is just too much.

Q pretty much guaranties he can farm minions/ also pretty much an ultimate level skill.

E is overpowered. Mao Kai and Garen who have similar skills are used as actives.

That W seems like it wouldn't have much counters to it, it's pretty much SIons Q without the weakness of charging it.

Just a whole lot of free CC without drawbacks

This would be a perfect champ but the cool-downs and skills need to be Debuffed!

I really like Glutton and his hyper tank role that you have come up with, a tank that gets stronger by eating his enemies is the perfect tank, which is why I LOVE his passive so much, this is a great tank concept. I dont kno wat Acadiaum is talking about, the W does have a charge, and actually a huge disadvantage: The inhale doesn't inhibit the enemy in any way, so if they wanted to, that could attack him, while he drawing them in. But to satiate, him is there a possibility, to give the W a weakness so there can be some counters. Does putting a 0.5 to 1 sec delay between the times when Glutton is inhaling and exhaling sound good to you? It seems like i could be a good choice because every pauses for a sec between inhales and exhales. This way the targets that are drawn in get some time to react before getting pushed away again. I also think that Acadiaum thinks that the stun is a bit excessive. Also would it be possible to recast W after the 2 second inhale channel, to cancel the exhale? That way you could draw your targets in and use Q on them! I Think that Q and W are the strongest abilities that you have in this kit. They fit him thematically and they seem like they'd be really cool, and are not that unbalanced. Suggestions and questions: Does Q knock only champions out of the way, and minions too? If so I can see why Acadiaum thinks this is too much like an ultimate, because most ultimates work the same way. I would suggest depowering it to: Glutton jumps towards a target, and taking a bite out of the first targeted hit, dealing percentage of missing health damage, as well as slowing them for 1 second by 15/25/35/45/55%. This assures that some counter play can be made. A lot Q abilities do not penetrate other targets. On the E i really like the passives, because they really fit him, except for one thing: Riot stays away from abilities that reflect damage. Also thick skin, doesnt really always reflect damage, it just absorbs and decreases it. I would also suggest thinking about an active E that fits his concept more and is more interesting. On the R... I really like it a lot, it fits in the case of armor pen, i would suggest just decreasing the amount that it affect him, just outright denying it seems a bit much. In the end, i really like the over all concept, and the lore, the kit just needs to be tweaked a bit. If you are looking for any inspiration i would suggest wapol from one piece, or gluttony from fullmetal alchemist brother hood.
