Watch this part of the cinematic It is time stamped watch how her W protects her from projectiles. I believe this would be an AMAZING in game feature to include in her kit. Her w already does damage and knocks targets up Her w could cost 10-50 more mana for the shield and it scales off of ap I believe it would be a huge benefit to her because she has her ult to engage or block - combine that with a w shield and I think it allows for more plays
