Curious about the Project border

Hi fellow summoners, I was wondering if anyone knew if when you get a project skin via "gift a friend a skin", will you get the border? :/

Also I think that you should be able to press ctrl 7 and you will see the Project triangle if you bought the skin on First strike. Just like when you press ctrl 6 you can see your mastery 4-5. Instead though, the animation that would pop up would be the Project triangle.
