Oleandervine1 votesUhm, so what about normal wards and removing enemy vision? 1 pink ward is nowhere near as useful as 3 normal wards and a sweeping lens.

So you suggest sucking up another slot of a Support's itemization with a Eye Stone and Sightstone? Not gonna fly. Besides, a great deal many supports prefer to build the Eye to free up a slot, such as Annie, Veigar, or Vel'Koz, so denying them warding power by changing the Eye Stones is going to directly hurt them, as well as further push people away from those items. They're already not popular as it is, on account of the superior actives of the level 3 gold items. Buying pink wards for 75 apiece is fine as it is, though honestly, most supports should stick to their basic wards on account of not having as much disposable income as the other roles.
