Message to Riot

I have a great Champion idea, drawn out to scale with all of his abilities and counters laid out. I was just curious if you would be interested in taking a look at it, and if there is any possibility of compensation for the idea? Thank you for your time, I hope to hear back from you soon!

P.S. this champ is going to be pretty difficult to play, so you can be either great with him, or struggle.

Unfortunately Riot does not crowdsource champion ideas, not take champion designs from non-Riot employees.

I do believe that a good, fleshed out, and well considered concept be a strong addition to a design resume though, if you have enough other stuff to make you a decent candidate. I know I used non-League game designs on my own application, with decent results.

If I were interested in submitting a design resume, do you know what that all would entail? Like expectations, and duties as a riot employee.

I do know some of it, but unfortunately I'm not sure I can discuss the exact specifications of the interview process due to the NDA I signed. Plus I intend to reapply, so I should stay on their good side. :-P

I will say that it's a position that requires EXCELLENT design abilities, good analytical skills, an understanding of gameplay health, and many other associated things. The ability to know when to drop an idea or how to tell when something is worth testing, worth launching, etc. is also very important.

There's no real one answer though, I think. Especially because I think every champion undergoes a slightly different process from ideation to final launch.

That said, if you browse the forums and Dev Diaries that have been posted, you can get a decent idea of how day-to-day at Riot might function. That's what I did to determine if it was a company I wanted to apply at.
