His boxes are treasure chests. his two shiv poison comes from the lore: "the Bilgewater warriors coat their weapons with the remains of their drinks the night before a battle or raid"
he's in full pirate attire, fairly nice clothes too, taken from the wealthy who stumble into the wrong area. Sometimes he sneaks up and robs them when they least expect it.
