"Play Dead" Ability?

For a while i've been thinking "If only I could do something like lay down during a game and make the enemy think i'm dead, even for a second." Then I thought, what about a "Play Dead" ability. Now, I know a lot of people right now either have a face of complete horror, or extreme confusion. Let me explain: If we imagine that we are in a very intense team fight and ONE hit away from dying; usually we will die, or if we are someone like LeeSin or Ekko dashing/ward hopping to safety is an option. However, what if we had an ability (preferably an ult) to "Play Dead". Similarly to item 3026 or Zilean ult, the champions death animation would go off and stay there for a small amount of time (lets say 2.5 seconds), with health bar hidden, then "revive" with the same amount of health as before.

Now, this ability can go one of two ways, very well, or very poorly. Either it will be "op" and people wont be able to tell the difference between the champions true death and the activated ability; or, it will become too predictable and the champion will be easily killed regardless. A few solutions to these issues: a slight change in color or an indicator to show that the ability is active ( however it cannot be too obvious as he is trying to be stealthy). As low health could be an issue when you are trying to escape, and if the enemy waits for you once the ability is activated; a SLIGHT health refund is optional. While too much of a heal would be an issue, and make him too hard to kill, too small a refund wont do anything. Another solution to that option could possible be a second active after the first half "Play Dead" is over, a dash, fear, or escape mechanic can be activated afterwards.

Since this ability would be WAY too overpowered for a tank, I think this ability should be reserved for a squishy champ. However, this champ would need high base damage and overall high damage kit and a small amount of CC to compensate for a no damage ult. Therefore i believe an adc, mid, or jungler would fit this ability fairly well.

Would love to hear feed back from the community on this! Hope everyone has a great day and good luck in your games!

Not a bad idea, but the only issue is making sure the announcer doesn't try to rat you out by not saying anything when you're faking your death.

For it to be perfect, it would have to trigger the Banner, the Gold, the Kill/Death/Assists counter, stacking items, etc.

If it's an ability, then people will expect it when playing against that champion (just like you expect the revive passives of Anivia Zac Aatrox ). If it's an item, it's just an alternative to item 3157 , since they'll wait around for you to revive and then kill you.

I like it but I feel there would be a ton of problems with it.. maybe just an ability where you are untargetable?
