I think it would be a good idea for the summoners rift's background to change. In the lore it says there are many nexus located around the world. So maybe every game the background could change. Maybe there's one in mountains and there's snow. Maybe there's one by a dessert and the river is dried out. This is just an idea, but I think this is a good idea and maybe to improve on. Riot has made custom maps for things like the Harrowing or the Olympics before, but after complaints about map inconsistencies and eye sores (winter olympics) the stopped.
what about new maps all together? the biggest complaint i get from anyone when i try to get them to play league is theres only 3 maps.
People have been begging for cosmetic map changes for a long time now, apparently they have their reasons why they don't do it anymore.
And they don't exactly have lore reason to do it anymore either considering the Institute of War, the League of Legends as an organization, and possibly Nexii themselves have been non-canon for quite some time now.
