Champion Concept: Tenebros, the Night's Warden
All right. This is my first time posting a champion concept, but the basic concept is a champion oriented around shadows who ISN'T considered an assassin. As such comes Tenebros, a tanky disruptor who uses dark elements to duel and confuse enemies who functions best with allies around. This makes him function both as a jungler and a support. He lacks any hard CC's and his individual damage is not very high
Base Concept: Since we want to melee oriented support/jungler ((using Braum, Leona, Alistar, Blitzcrank as rivals to look at)) I had to look at what would make this character unique. Leona offers amazing hard CC and good initiate, but lacks strong disengage. She also can't poke, but rather is best going all in. Braum offers decent CC, a good large area ult, and is very good at absorbing damage for his carry. However, his CC is the least of all these 3. He does destroy projectiles which is unique. Alistar is the technical tankiest of the bunch with massive % damage reduction, the ability to break out of CC's, very strong disengage and a malphite ult at level 2 with good execution. He even has some sustain. However his poke ((When not in a solo lane)) is non existant. Blitzcrank has his pull. Strong CC and the best burst out of the champs. He's also the only one without a dash mechanic, but instead has a move speed.
As such, all of these champs offer some kind of cc, with each one offering something unique the rest dont' have. Alistar's great disengage. Braums amazing blocking. Leona's long range engage and powerful stun lock. Blitzcrank's pull and burst. So, we don't want to step an any toes.
Passive: Unseen Harm Tenebros is capable of striking his foes with a precision they can't see to subtly disable them. With every auto attack against a champion he applies a 4% slow that stacks with itself ((Up to 20%.)) He maintains his harm on only one target at a time. The concept behind this is that he can apply a minor but noticable crowd control that can allow an ally time to stick to his target. As well this also allows him to keep up with this target. He also would be one of the only supports who could actually maintain a slow upon an enemy perpetually with proper play, albiet a light cc
Q:) Shadow Throw Tenebros throws out a dark dagger dealing 50/70/90/110/130 + (0.5 bonus AD) (.2 AP) damage. In addition, if he hits a champion he moves 10/20/30/40/50% faster while moving towards the target for 2.5 seconds. This also applies one stack of Unseen Harm. Range 650. CD: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds. All of the other tanky supports all have some kind of initiate manuever ((braum slow/stun stack, blitz pull, leona/alistar target dash)) but this champion will actually lack this specifically. Instead, he gets a very low damage skill shot that can give him a strong speed boost moving TOWARDS his target. After all, he is meant to be a disruptor support. Being unable to get in to disrupt wouldn't do him any good.
W:) No Escape! Tenebros consumes his stacks of Unseen Harm upon his target doubling their effects for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 Seconds. In addition, all damage dealt to the target by his allies is increased by a portion of the slow for the same duration. 25% + (.05 bonus AD) (.01 AP) of the amount slowed. Range: 700. CD: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds. ((Note, with no bonus AP or AD, this means with 5 stacks of unseen harm procced, it deals causes 10% bonus damage taken. If actived with fewer stacks, the amount is therefore slower, meaning he has to build up before he can activate for damage bonus.)) This ability really solidifies his role of requiring a team mates to maximize his power. The ability to cause enemies to take bonus damage is rare, and so its bonus is light. He also gets to empower his slow for a short duration in the process.
E:) From the Shadow Passive: Whenever Tenebros deals damage while enemy champions having no vision of him, he deals a bonus 2%/4%/6%/8%/10% of the damage inflicted and heals for 50% of this bonus damage. Active: Tenebros forces a release of darkness to blind his foes. All foes within 200 of tenebros are blinded for .5/.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds. CD 13 seconds. His only true 'hard cc' if we count blind as one. Great in the bot lane as a support skill. If he can get close enough, he can blind enemies. It's also great in team fights as he can stay around his adc to provide a blind followed by slows to peel for his partner. The passive concept is the idea that as a shadow oriented character, he should get a benefit while remaining out of sight. This said, good vision will seriously hurt him.
R:) Nightosphere yes, adventure time reference Tenebros unleashes the power of the night to create a dome of pure darkness with a 300 range radius of his current location for 3 seconds. All enemies in this sphere are cut off from their summoner, Blinding their Summoner. (But not the champion.) Enemy champions in the dome also take damage From the Shadow's passive. CD 120/100/80 seconds. This is his truly most unique ability. The idea here is a disruptive skill that strikes the Player rather than the Champion. The idea of messing with the player by darkening their screen so they can barely see while inside would truly cause trouble. However, since the champion themselves aren't harmed by this effect, you can't just use this as a way to win fights against stronger more fed champions. Using this on the enemy adc without anyone to follow up means they will just beat on you without regret. Using this with an ally assassin to go in with, leaves the enemy with their pants down while the Zed annihilates them. This said champions with escapes ((Like ezreal)) can get out with ease. This blinding only blinds summoners who's champions are INSIDE of it. Enemies champions outside of it can see inside just fine.
From a mechanical point ((Obviously numbers need tinkering))
Quotes: To Graves upon landing ult on him: "Ironic... isn't it?" To Nocturne upon landing ult: "I had a joke for this." To Vayne upon landing ult: "Lets fight on our turf" If Vayne procs true bolt while his W is active: "Be purged." Taunt: "Lets have a fist fight. I've actually boxed with shadows." Taunt: "Pretending to be fearless? Let's see how long that lasts in the dark." Joke: "Do you have a campfire? I have a good story to tell." Joke: "What has two summoner spells and just died?" Joke: "Afraid of the Dark? Get a night light." Joke: Only around Lux "Oh good. My night light." Joke: Around Annie "You know... the dark is probably afraid of you."
Lore Concept: A warrior of the dark who has risen amount the Night Hunters. While Shauna may hold the title of the first night hunter, he has been hunting them longer than she. However, his greatest success is how he teaches towns in dangerous area's how to protect themselves from the night. Because of this, he earned the title of the Night's Warden. While Vayne prefers to work alone, he prefers to work with a team of night hunter's, particular new adepts at teaching them how to be wary of the night.
"The dark isn't scary. What lies in it is what you should fear."
