MMORPG LoL

Imagine a MMORPG based on the LoL lore. Damn, that would be the best thing I have ever played for sure. Why? Cause the LoL lore is meant to be used to creating a mmo. It has different factions, lots of characters and items. You wouldn't have to play as a LoL champion, but rather create your own character like in any other mmo, you would encounter the champions in game and either be a part of their team or battle against them depending on the faction you are. Moreover I am almost sure there are a lot more characters in the Lore than champions in the actual game. Items would suit characters very well too. I mean, the game would finally make sense and you won't have to equip swords on marksmen (maybe - or that would be a special trait). I know it is a LOT of work, but I am sure that the result and the hype would be insane and would catch the attention of lots of people.

Yeah but everyone would just follow around Rammus and worship him like in his lore... Actually I'm okay with doing that Rammus

I kinda dislike the idea of upstating or even defeating champions during the game (unless you only can do it with a party), but apart from that it is a neat idea.

That said apart from the lore, what else could a LoL MMO built upon to seperate itself from competition?

Insane mobility and fighting mechanics, most likely. A problem with a lot of MMOs is that they're button-mashers like WoW. There's a few that aren't, but are plagued with a few issues (Guild Wars 2 I hear is one of the best, whereas TERA has great combat but a really creepy fanbase).

Another possible advantage would be a lack of P2W aspects and only cosmetics, if Riot holds to their current economic policies. If they focus on the story and world instead of a million "Bring me 20 bear asses!" they might win in the entertaining department. I've heard that FF14 does well on this (as the "grindy sidequests" tend to be almost always skippable sidequests that are easy to ignore).

I doubt it will happen, as an MMO requires many resources and risk.
