To be honest it looks like a champion lock in if this game came out in 2001..

I like this it looks awesome although id wat it if they redesigned it ever to be five summoners holding orbs representing our team and five for the enemy team to keep it lore friendly

Other than a different coat of paint, what's different about that version?

A changed champion selection should improve the experience. Things that could be added include:

  • A way to make sets of champions
  • A way to see who you can trade with before locking in
  • A way to mark a lane/role as preferred
  • A way to set a 'default' Rune and Mastery page per champion

What if they did two changes to the champion selection like this:

  • Created a "Wheel Selection" for champions, where you can scroll through champions that way.
  • Had "tick" boxes that can narrow down champions based on a role, or a characteristic. For example: If you wanted to find a ranged champion for mid lane, you could click the "Ranged" box and the "Marksman" or "Mage" box and this gave you a small list of champions.
  • The ability to change runes quickly mid-champion selection like you can currently do with masteries.
  • The ability to "call" a lane with a drop down box of lanes. If you clicked the drop down box and select "Jungle", then an icon for the "Jungle" lane would appear next to your champion portrait. This would prevent form actually having to spam call a lane, and/or provides clear communication for the rest of the team as to which lane is still free.
